Kid dragged his feet, but Shinichi would have none of it. āIām more important to you than a gem?ā He looped his arms around his neck. āProve it,ā he murmured into his ear, cheeky.
āDetectiveāā Kid said, flailing, seemingly unsure of where to put his hands.
āWhatās the matter, Kid. Never danced before?ā Shinichi said. Something bubbled deep in his stomach, anxiety or excitement, Shinichi wasnāt sure. Either way, it made him bold, and he reached out and grabbed his hand, placing it on his hip, linking the fingers of their other hand together. Kid tried to tug his hands away, but Shinichiās hands held them firmly, right as the quartet changed songs into a rousing waltz.
āOf course I have, itās just thatāā Kid protested.
āJust what? Afraid Iām a better dancer than you?ā Shinichi asked.
āIām not exactly dressed for it!ā
āSo?ā Shinichi said, tilting his head, gripping Kidās fingers more tightly. He couldnāt believe he was touching Kidās bare hand, without the glove. The rough pads of his hand sent shivers down Shinichiās spine.
āIāve never done ballroom before!ā Kid hissed.
āYouāre kidding,ā Shinichi said. Kidās grumpy look was adorable! āItās easy. Follow my lead.ā
