#krypton au

Bottom left drawing is just my take on kryptonian clothes inspired by Traditional Albanian dress, and two Jor El sketches. As much as I love Krypton's sci-fi robes in canon media and like to draw them that way, they do look just a little boring at times.

Anyway, into lore:

Jor El and Lara Lor Van were both prodigies and respected scientists in their fields, becoming the best of the best very soon after completing their studies and having a child together in their early-mid 20s(very young parents by Kryptonian standards, as most started having children closer to their 30s)

Jor El:

His work had a heavier focus on astrophysics and engineering, with a minor interest in language.

He was often described by his peers as having his head in the clouds, dreaming of interstellar and interdimentional exploration since his early life and greatly fascinated by the idea of meeting life on other worlds.

When the deterioration of Krypton was discovered, he built schematics for ships to save as many people as possible before the Council rejected the research, refusing to believe the planet was dying and their lives were in danger.

At that point due to lack of time and resources, he retrofitted his earlier designs into the rocket that would eventually save their son's life.

Lara Lor Van:

Lara was largely regarded as a Seismologist, Geologist and weather pattern analyst, with a small personal interest in ai software/programming.

Devoted to her work and a very observant person by nature, she had a tendency to neglect her personal health when caught up in her data. She was one of the first people to tie the increase in natural disasters and abnormal weather activity to the planet's instability.

Following research expeditions in the planet's deepest caves, it became evident that the corruption had spread far from the core and was making its way toward the surface. When presenting their work to the Council, the data was rejected and the unnatural weather patterns attributed to a simple polar shift.

After this she redirected her resources and time to help build and program their son's escape rocket.

The death of Krypton:

While the planet's core had been unstable for several years before its ultimate demise, it only took a few months following the discovery of its deterioration for its destruction to take place, and it's death lasted less than 24 hours once it went into effect.

The infection began at the planet's core, as shifting tectonic plates caused a chemical reaction to transform parts of the sun-stone core into kryptonite.

From then on the corruption spread out, causing the core layers to expand until it began affecting the life on the surface in the form of unpredictable destructive earthquakes, natural disasters and abnormal weather patterns.

As the kryptonite corruption arrived at the 'reachable' layers of the planet (deep caves that could be accessed from the surface) these effects worsened immeasurably. The expanding infection and earthquakes caused the ground to open and spew poison, causing a majority of the surrounding live to quickly suffocate, burn, or in some cases melt due to high radiation as concentrated vapour from the planet's core was released into the atmosphere.

What if, the Fentons are indeed accomplished scientist, some of the most esteemed in their field?

After some time, Astra and Alexa had begun to adjust to being trapped in the past.

ooooh, would Lex then attack Bruce/Damian because he didn’t get to be ambassador? Or because Clark and Jon like them better than they do/would him?
