Coming Home
Chapter 1Â
Taehyung as a single parent. He was looking for a babysitter to help him raise his kid and then he met you.Â
âTae-oh ah, how have you been today? Tae-oh ahâÂ
âYa Kim Taehyung, can you please keep it down, we are in the public and we are boarding the plane soon.â Hobi slapped the back of Taehyung, trying to get him to come back to reality- the reality that they were boy group idols.Â
âHyung, we all know that he is a pabo for his child. He must be very excited that we are finally going back home.â Jimin said with a face full of eye smiles, he could never stop being amused by this side of his free-spirited friend. âHello baby boy, did you eat well today?â Jimin could not resist but pop in to say hi to his best friendâs son.Â
âPassengers boarding flight number, OZ1103, towards Seoul, please move to Gate 23 for boarding. Passengers boarding flight number, OZ1103, towards Seoul, please move to Gate 23 for boarding.âÂ
As the boys slowly got up from their seats and scrambled for their belongings, the queue at the boarding area was forming and getting longer. Taehyung already had his bags with him and was getting impatient with the speed that his team was moving.Â
âHurry up! We are going to be late,â he said as he walked ahead of the group and stopped when he realised that half of them were still struggling to put on their shoes, and Yoongi barely woke up from his nap.Â
âWe have seats assigned and the plane probably wouldnât take off until at least half an hour later,â the leader spoke as a matter of fact.Â
âYa hurry!â Taehyung rushed Jungkook since he was only able to boss the youngest around but he said in a hushed tone in case one of the older members could hear him. Yet a part of him hoped that his hyungs could hear him and increase their sense of urgency. Part of him also wished that Jungkook would help him to rush the others.Â
The queue to board the plane was painfully slow. But thankfully they were flying business class so they did not have to look for space in the overhead compartment to store their bags, and did not have to squeeze along the narrow aisles, making way for others to pass or squeezing to get their way through themselves. The wait was still painfully long. It was a full flight and it seemed that the economy class was never going to be ready for take off.Â
Taehyungâs eyes were glued to his phone, scrolling through the same few screenshots and pictures of his child on FaceTime over and over again. His smile was plastered on his face and he could not help but stroke his screen a few times and talk to it another few times. When there were some hopes that the plane might finally be departing, Taehyung put his phone down and let out a happy sigh. Jimin chuckled lowly next to him as he saw how blissfully excited his friend was. âTae-oh would be so happy that his father is finally coming home.â Taehyung could only smile at the mention of his childâs name. He couldnât wait to be back home.Â
Taehyung was not always this excited about going home as this was not the first time he was separated from his son. In fact, he was used to being away from his child due to his work schedule. But this time, the Japan tour took almost a month without any time for them to make short trips back to Korea. To be more precise, he was separated with his child for almost 6 weeks as he did not get to spend much time with him even before he left. Taehyung was so annoyed that his manager had to assure him a few times that he would definitely be able to go home right after they return to Korea, only then did Taehyungâs anger subside to a level that would not threaten his career as an idol. He was always ready to give up his career and perhaps anything for his son.Â
âIs Tae-oh staying with your mum now?â Jimin asked in hopes to calm his friend down a little.Â
âHmm I donât think he is in Daegu now, my mum said she will be bringing him to Seoul a few days before our arrival so that I can see him right away.â
âAh, thatâs nice. That will mean that we can get to see our Tae-oh soon tooâ, Jiminâs eye smiles appeared again. Taehyung hummed lightly and tried to suppress his excitement by closing his eyes and taking a nap. But his mind was so full of the things that he would do with his son in the next few days that he could not control himself. He would smile and occasionally burst out in small laughters and giggles, causing Jimin to laugh at how ridiculous his friend has become because of a 1 year old kid.Â
The hyungs would ask for recent photos and videos of Tae-oh after seeing how excited Taehyung was. âWah he looks even bigger than the last time we saw him. He is growing so fastâ, Yoongi said.Â
âThe next thing you know he would be running around already,â Hobi added.Â
âAnd talking back to you just like how you always talk back to meâ, Jin dissed Taehyung from the seat behind.Â
âHe looks like he will be more well-behaved than V-hyung thoughâ, Jungkook added.
âHe looks like Taehyung, the features are photocopied,â Namjoon pointed out.Â
âYou really think so, hyung?â Taehyung asked in his usual child-like awed voice.Â
âYa you donât have to worry about losing your child, everyone will probably know who to return the child to, you will find your child at the doorstep of Bighit,â the leader commented. Everyone burst out in laughter and Taehyung looked down at his phone again, missing his child even more.Â
Finally, the announcement to prepare for landing was made. Taehyungâs excitement intensified to the point that he became slightly nervous. The idea of finally getting to see his child and hold him with his hands made him a little nervous. He kept swallowing and suppressing his emotions but he was the first to stand up after the seat belt sign turned off. He frantically took his bags from the overhead cabin and knocked into Jimin a few times in his rush. The sound of bags shuffling, people moving and phones beeping surrounded the airplane.Â
And suddenly, Namjoon announced, âoh no we got some bad news. PD wants us to head straight to the company once we arrived.âÂ
Jimin looked up at Taehyung from his seat. His friend rolled his eyes and let out a deep sigh of frustration.Â
