Soooo yeah just got back from a 3 day adventure at Peppermill (last week, but hadn't had time to post pics until now) and HOLY FREAKING CRAP is the decor in that place GORGEOUS!!! We'd stayed at Atlantis the last few times and wanted to feel "fancy" so we booked one of their Roman Tower Jacuzzi suites, and our first words when we stepped into the room were "HOLY CRAP! Did we rent a HOUSE!!??!" It had its own fucking LIVING ROOM, 2 flat screens, an extra sink for the "bar," and 2 mini fridges (one stocked with the usual crap they try to get you to buy, and one empty for leftovers/etc.).
As you can see from my feed, I took a shit ton of photos (we immediately text one of our photographer friends and told him he would love the decor and that we plan to drag him along next time), and the sheer SIZE of that place is mind-boggling. The layout is just BEGGING someone to host a con there, but it'd have to be 21+, since there's gambling and booze everywhere lol. THEY PRETTY MUCH HAD THEIR OWN CONVENTION HALL INSIDE THE HOTEL!!
Aside from being pretty, it was nice that one of their restaurants was 24/7, and the slots were loose enough to allow us to play all 3 days without going broke. We had some problems with the tv above the Jacuzzi, though, so they had us move rooms at 2AM the first night, and the new room we moved to had less-shiny fixtures and some suspicious-looking splatter marks on the wall next to the toilet. D: We didn't spend much time in the room, though, aside from sleeping/watching tv/jacuzzi time after we'd adventured all day, so we just ignored it. We went to the spa on the last day, and it was pretty nice. They had complementary biscotti, coffee, tea, trail mix, juice, and fruit/veggie water, which was a step up from Spa Atlantis, but it felt like Atlantis had a bit more to do besides just hanging out by the pools/in the locker room. Toscana's steam room and sauna were 1/4 the size of the ones at Atlantis, and the steam room was noisy and smelled more like sweaty gym socks than eucalyptus like it was supposed to. D: The spa terrace lounge was nice, though. We just wished they'd placed it better (we had to keep moving seats to stay in the sun) and that we didn't have to deal with giant mosquitoes.
All in all, Peppermill was gorgeous, but there were a few things we really missed about Atlantis (like cheaper meals that were still delicious). Luckily, Atlantis was literally a few blocks away, so we grabbed lunch/dinner there before heading back home. If you're willing to walk/drive between the two, I'd definitely recommend:
Atlantis: Spa, Meals, Club Card (instant free play when you sign up)
Peppermill: Decor, Arcade, Pools, Bars (but they close really early), and Club Card (daily drawing events)
