Siang yang cerah namun tak terlalu panas, suara jalanan yang tidak pernah bising dan pemandangan pegunungan di balik jendela kayu aula, nun lima menit disana gelombang lembut air laut bercumbu dengan bibir pantai, airnya  jernih meski tak bebas dari sampah plastik. Terberkatilah tempat ini, sisi yang boleh diceritakan karena cukup menenangkan.

          Dua minggu duduk dengan senang karena sudah memiliki meja kerja sendiri, meskipun kantor ini lebih terasa seperti rumah—yah, perlu diakui bahwa tidak banyak pekerjaan, terlebih dibagian umum menangani pekerjaan serabutan dan masalah-masalah dari berbagai pegawai.

         Favoritku sejauh ini mengakses ‘workgroup’, disana banyak film-film lawas dan film baru bajakan yang bisa ditonton. Namun yang paling kusukai adalah arsip perjalanan tim petualang orang kantor (beberapa sudah alumnus) menjelajahi alam Tolitoli. Mereka mendokumentasinya dengan cukup rapi dan pembawa acara yang selalu tersenyum dan jago menyelam sambil tersenyum.

         Mereka menjelajah sampai ke Ampana lanjut ke Togean.Dua minggu saya mengikuti petualang mereka, hingga seorang senior, menegur. Mungkin terlalu sering saya menonton, tapi bukan itu poinnya.  

         “San. Jangan terlalu ditonton,”

         “Maksudnya mas?”

Inilah formasi pada Desember 2016. Masih kurang Naufal yang sedang pulang dan kak Echa yang sedang offduty. Sudah terbayangkan tampilan kantor kami kan. Lebih mirip rumah atau kantor? kalau bagi kami ya rumah ya kantor. Karena kami 24 jam tinggal disitu. Pagi buka kantor, malam jadi tempat tinggal.

Bukannya ada rumah dinas? Ada tepat di belakang kantor. Seperti yang sudah aku ceritakan kemarin. Rumah dinas milik kepala kantor dan kami diizinkan untuk tinggal disitu. Meskipun sebenarnya kami tidur di kantor juga. Kamar hanya untuk barang. Foto rumah dinas ini tahun 2018. Aku tidak menemukan foto tahun 2016 dengan cat warna cream. 

Kelihatan kan sekitarnya adalah kebun dengan ilalang dan kelapa. Dua malam aku melihat ular kelapa yang sedang bergelantungan di kabel. waktu itu yang jaga malam kak Teni. Kupanggil dia dan langsung dibunuh karena takut masuk kantor.

Kata kak Teni dulu di samping rumah dinas ada ular sanca. Awalnya tau dari sisik ular yang sering ada di samping rumah. Hingga akhirnya ditangkap oleh pegawai pada jaman itu. Kebetulan dia orang Minahasa. Langsung saja dimakan ularnya. 

“Kak Teni juga makan ular?” Tanyaku

“Kita cuma coba-coba, maar depe rasa bagaimana e. aneh dang.” Jawabnya.

Kalau kalian pernah lihat di TV tentang makanan ekstrim di Sulawesi Utara. Itu hal yang nyata. Tapi hanya satu pasar di daerah Tomohon yaitu pasar beriman yang menjual aneka daging hewan-hewan yang tidak biasa.

“Kalau paniki biasa dimakan disini. Enak itu.” Tambah kak Echa

Demon Hunter’s locking horns like a pair of unruly goats fighting over that tin can with a bit of beans left in the bottom? Yes. 

Death Knights gyrating upon each other in a matter so unholy that even an unbeliever of the light appeals the Light for some sort of intervention in either smiting them down or blinding the viewer to spare them such a sight? Ohhh you know it. 

There was even a time someone...this is difficult to recall. Even for a seasoned Grunt as myself. Someone...double dipped a chip. In the salsa bowl. THE HORROR! Such a date still lives in infamy. Even if High Command has declined my numerous attempts at a national holiday of remembrance being held in remembrance of  such a tragic day.

Turtle Poo River

The waters flowing into the Valley of Honor may look clean. You may even seek to beat the heat with either a swim of a handful of chilly water down your throat. DO NOT DO IT! You would have nothing but a mouthful of turtle turds!

But Kolab, you may ask, where are these turtle turds coming from? This is the dealer of the brown water. The case against these shelled aqua-terrorists is as solid as a cast iron sand castle.

Think about it. They swim in the water. Eating the plants. But where does the poo go? INTO THE WATER, my fellow warriors! How can you be expected to carry out your duties to the Horde if you are covered in doody yourself? You cannot! Page three hundred and ninety four, article six, line seven of the Horde code of regulation clearly states you may not charge into battle covered in the doody! Ever since the Battle of the Flooded Outhouse back during the Cataclysm. We don’t...we don’t talk about that battle.

Best Defensive Position:

One may assume you ought to seek the iron walls and spiked ramparts of the Hall of the Brave in the event of invasion. BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG! The enemy would anticipate such an act. We are the Horde. We win wattles through strength, honor, and unconventional tactics. The best position is…
