Koigirl is small and very childlike in appearance. This makes Otieno nervous since he doesn't want to risk her getting swiped up or hurt. He also doesn't want to keep having to check to see if she's still following. So to remedy this, Koigirl just piggybacks. She tends to just hang off Otieno and navigate around his body like a little monkey.

Koigirl is a yokai and due to such, has some catches to go with her cuteness. The number one catch is that she has shark teeth in her mouth. She of course can eat normally without extending them but her regular teeth don't work well on thick bits of food. Otieno has been bitten before. It was a total accident though but Koigirl still feels bad about it anytime it's brought up.

Otieno is a samurai gifted with thick skin. In all of the world, only 7 blades can injure him, counting his own. He isn't quite sure of how he exactly came to acquire such an ability but it has save his life on many occasions. His sword is his main weapon as it's unbreakable and highly reliable. Koigirl is a koifish yokai. She is also a well trained ninja due to her previous master's teaching. After seeing Otieno in action and saving his life from a stab wound, she takes it upon herself to become his helper. Strangely, there is something to her that gives Otieno the impression she's much stronger than she lets on. She uses water manipulation and can create her own weapons from it, such as the giant ninja star in the picture. They all work just like their metal counterparts.
