June Yarn Review
No, I have not last track of the month. This is a review of yarns that I used in June. Or, well, one yarn that I used in June, because I had this idea at the tail end of the month and didn't get pictures of anything else. Why am I doing this? Eh, 'cause I can? Who asked for it? Absolutely nobody. But here we go.
Brand: Herrschners
Variety: Be-Stripey
Colour: Gold Cost
Weight: Fine Worsted
Fiber: Acrylic
First thing to try from the new Be line! Over all, I'm pretty pleased with it. It comes in a variety of fun colours that are basically monochome with a couple of accent colours. The yarn is kinda flecked as well as striped, so you get a neat visual texture along with the stripes. It is not the softest basic acrylic yarn I've ever met, but it's not bad and I don't mind working with it. It's about the same weight as Caron's Simply Soft, if you're familiar with that, only without being prone to splitting. By this point Mum and I have each done a hat and the striping works better when done on circular needles. I do my hats flat and then seam them and the back-and-forth creates some kinda meh muddy patches. Fortunately they were around the edge, so they aren't visible. Mum hasn't tried crocheting with it yet, so no feedback on that point.
