After much blood, sweat, and tears (in the span of four hours, no really 70% of this had been speed-written in four hours), Iâve finally fINISHED THIS BEAUTIFUL THING.
BUT I AM LATE. ïœâă»;ïŒ
SO I MUST APOLOGIZE. OTL
My only excuse is... life hates it when I ignore it, so it drowns me in responsibilities. .-.
(ăàČ çàČ )ăćœĄâ»ââ»
But anyways, this gift is for Friend #19, who is pantsu a.k.a. @weirderes~! :D You havenât answered my anon asks (which kind of made me wonder if this is really your url...) so I have no idea how youâre doing, but hopefully, youâll see this someday--and if not, weâll at least some AkaKuro fans will be entertained by this! ;D
So anyway, this is an AkaKuro oneshot set four years after the canon story (the GoM are in their second year of college) and the two Akashi personas are practically bros now. Itâs December 23 and Akashi is hosting a party for his old friends in his apartment. Unfortunately, he gets incapacitated before the party starts. ÎŁ(ïżŁăïżŁlll)
Iâve taken up pantsuâs second request, which is âAkaKuro Christmas fluffâ~! But since I was mad with sleeplessness, Iâve also somehow incorporated the first and third requests in, as well! What are they? Youâll see. >u>
To the AkaKuro fans, feel free to review this! (Though watch out for it in FFNet and AO3 next Christmas, as I missed my chance to post it there...) And I hope you guys like it, especially you, pantsu-chan~! â ( á ăâ )ïŒż

Note: This is actually my first time officially writing Akashi and his point of view. Hopefully, I wonât disappoint. And also, it might sound like the author has not been sleeping lately. .-.
@kurokonosanta please do your thang! (ă„ïżŁ ÂłïżŁ)ă„Â

Of Handcuffs and Candlelight
When Seijuurou woke up, he hadnât expected to feel so cold. After all, it was always in his habitâever since he could remember thingsâto properly bundle up when sleeping, as his body temperature was quite sensitive. And so he couldnât help shivering and being confused as he groggily turned on his⊠bed?
Seijuurou blinked away the last of his sleepiness and observed his surroundings. There was a scent of jasmine in the air. The scenery outside his window was dark and the room was dimly lit, so it was safe to assume that it was past sundown. It seems that he was currently in the bedroom of his own apartment, after several moments of calculationâand this was his bed; he couldnât mistake the fluffy-lumpy-ness of the pillows for any other than his ownâbut for some reason, the place didnât look like his usual bedroom. The walls were decorated with festive red berries, the floor had ribbons, clothes, and gift wrappers strewn all over it, the ceiling had red and green balloons stuck floating up there, andâwere those real burning candles on his dresser?
God, maybe this was just a dream. The pounding in his head still hadnât gone away and he felt sore all over. The redhead was about to sit up when something held his wrists back and made him flop back on the mattress. What on earthâŠ? Seijuurou stared blankly at the object tied on him.
It was a handcuff.
Seijuurou turned to his other wrist.
Another handcuff.
Hours later, the Akashi heir would deny that he had broken into a cold sweat at that precise moment.
Seijuurou tried desperately to reign in his growing panic at the situation. It wasnât unusual for him to feel the emotionâthere were several instances in his young life in which the redhead encountered it like any average personâso it was fairly easy to keep his cool, but the strangeness of his current position planted dread in him. Why was he handcuffed to his own bed? Why was his head pounding so hard? And why were there Christmas decorations inside his room?
Calm yourself, big brother.
Despite the pain, Seijuurou couldnât help lifting his eyes heavenward at the sound of the familiar inner voice. Thank you for stating the obvious.
I am merely trying to help, said the voice similar to his matter-of-factly. Your anxiety will not be of aid in ridding those cuffs, after all.
âI know,â muttered Seijuurou dejectedly, testing how far his hands could reach his side tables. They succeeded, but not by a large marginâSeijuurou could only touch the edges of the furniture, and even that strained the metal against his wrists. Damn queen-sized bed.
His head still hurt, but the rest of his body was awake enough to start moving. Gingerly, he tried to retract his legs, but found something tugging them back. Seijuurou craned his neck to see what it was, and almost whined a curse when he did.
Two pieces of ropeâhandkerchiefs?âwere the culprits.
Am I really a prisoner of my own home right now?
I do believe so, yes. But fear not. It would seem that this is a gift for you.
Seijuurou frowned, fighting the urge to tug at the handkerchiefs restraining his feet. And just how is this a gift, little brother?
Look down at yourself.
When Seijuurou did, he couldnât help but gape. No wonder he was shiveringâhe was clad in just his boxers!
Hands and feet chained to the bed, semi-nakedness, dim lighting in a bedroom⊠Surely you can see where this is going, brother.
The pounding in Seijuurouâs head worsened into dizziness as he flopped back down on the pillows. Oh, good lord... He shut his eyes close and groaned in frustration. Iâm going to be violated. In my own apartment.
Oh, will youâcan you please refrain from jumping to conclusions? We are not going to be raped.
The conviction in his other selfâs voice made Seijuurouâs eyes slowly open and his body relax against the downy mattress. Sometimes, his âlittle brotherâ was actually a good kiâ
Not while Iâm awake and thereâs a fountain pen by our alarm clock.
Dual red orbs stared blankly at the balloon-covered ceiling. After a beat, Seijuurou sighed in resignation. Never mind.
What? Itâs a viable idea, isnât it? snapped his brother, sounding affronted. Hearing his tone almost made Seijuurou chuckle in tired fondness. More often than not, he still found himself amazed at the fact that the other voice residing inside him had gradually fleshed out into a real identity during the past four years, since Seijuurouâs return to the surface, by just becoming more talkative and open as the days pass. âLittle brotherâ, as heâd come to address himâsince they both agreed on that fateful match against America that they werenât truly separate from each other to ever need different namesâwas nothing if not virtually his twin in almost every aspect. They both loved their hobbies, which stayed the same, and the same intelligence and determination they poured into everything they did was never lost even if they switch places.
Funnily enough, his brother rarely desired to take over these days. Seijuurou had always offered, since they were sharing the same body and he also had a right to use it, but the heterochromatic-eyed version of himself found no incentive in doing so. It would seem that after their first defeat, a huge part of their soul had been freed and comforted and his brother no longer felt trapped under all that pressure. He was content enough to watch most of the time. And Seijuurou quickly found that he liked getting to know his other self better throughout these years. He had even gotten used to his âextremeâ tendencies. But stillâŠ
Can we please not discuss this right now? groaned the monochromatic-eyed Seijuurou. My head still feels like it was split into two and I am really not in the mood to talk you down about maiming whoever did this with a writing tool.
Fortunately, his other self opted to grumble a petulant response and otherwise let him be. Now, to figure out what happened to him before all of this and how he got this hangoverâ
Brother, you didnât get drunk.
Seijuurou blinked in confusion. âWhat?â What do you mean? If Iâm not, then what is this pain?
âYouâre finally awake.â
The familiar voice both froze the redheadâs breath and quickened his pulse. He could even feel his other selfâs pleasant surprise. Attraction truly was a strange phenomenonâjust a small reminder of how mortal and imperfect Akashi Seijuurou actually was, no matter how much he had to delude himself into thinking the opposite for the sake of coping up with his harsh and strict life.
Seijuurou turned to the window, where a door leading to a small balcony was placed next to and the door to the bathroom stood. Out of the dim shadows and dark-colored curtains emerged one Kuroko Tetsuya, with his signature pale-blue hair, matching eyes, and that soft, creamy-looking skin.
A heartbeat later, the redhead realized that he had noticed the other young manâs pallor more clearly because of his state of undress.
Brother, are you sure weâre not drunk? Or high? Or dreaming? asked Seijuurou almost desperately, trying not to ogle at the low-riding shorts on Kurokoâs hipsâhow the glow of the candles casted such tantalizing planes on his skin.
I am quite certain. Besides, if Tetsuya wanted to seduce us, he would not want us to forget that he did, would he?
Despite the gravity of the situation, a tingling spark shot through Seijuurouâs nerves.
Tetsuya didnât know whether to laugh or jump in joy. The fact that he was right hereâin Akashi-kunâs apartment, with him and Akashi-kun in only their underwearâwas a beautiful miracle, alright. A Christmas Miracle that almost made him weep.
And whatâs even better was that they were all alone!
Several resounding thuds and dull yells suddenly echoed from behind the door to the rest of the apartment.
Well, not exactly.
He watched as Akashi start at the sounds and stare confusedly at the door. Tetsuya had to stop himself from inwardly squealing. That cute frown and pure-looking red eyes were just too much for his heart.
âKuroko, what is going on?â asked Akashi hesitantly, glancing at him. Suddenly, a shiver passed through his half-naked form and the action snapped Tetsuya out of his reverie.
âAh, forgive me. You mustâve been freezing.â The blunette hurried to cover his redheaded friendâs bodyâmuch to his dismayâwith a blanket and a comforter. He then placed the back of his hand against the otherâs neck. Understandably, Akashi flinched and tried to move away.
âYouâre cold,â remarked the redhead, wincing.
âNo, youâre just hot.â
Akashiâs eyes widened.
âI mean, warm,â corrected Tetsuya hurriedly, relieved that his voice hadnât wavered from its usual monotonous tone. âYouâre warm. Not surprising since you have a fever.â
Now Akashi looked even more surprised. âA fever? When? How?â
âJust this morning. We let ourselves in to start preparing for the party, but when we decided to check on you, we found you burning up with fever. So I watched over you while the others did my part.â Admitting what he did the whole day felt quite embarrassing, but the blunette also wanted to let Akashi know that he was the one who did the job.
He watched as Akashi frowned some more, until finally, his expression settled into one of discernment. Tetsuya couldnât help smiling softly. It looked like he was speaking to his other self once again. The blunette was really glad that Akashiâs senses had been dulled by his fever, otherwise, he wouldnât get away with his incessant staring. Akashi didnât even notice that Tetsuya was watching him the whole time he was awake. Â Who wouldâve thought that leaving Akashi Seijuurou to his own devices would be that adorable?
âHow did I get sick, thoughâŠ?â mumbled the redhead, staring up at the ceiling.
âI believe itâs because you overexerted yourself yesterday at our game.â
The redhead shook his head. âEverythingâs still quite hazy and my head is throbbing. What happened?â
At the question, Tetsuya had to look away from those glossy red eyes. He sat down on the bed next to Akashi. âWe lost a bet to Takao-kun, so we had to play one basketball game while cross-dressing.â Powder-blue orbs sneaked a glance at the corner of his eye and Tetsuya found himself blinking at the image of Akashi Seijuurou looking away to the side, with a bit of dark color dusting his cheeks. The blunette couldnât ascertain it because of the dimness, but he was sure the redhead was actually blushing.
And now, the thought was making him blush.
âAhâŠâ began Akashi, clearing his throat. âNow I remember. And the cold had most likely seeped into me because of our outfits, yes?â
Tetsuya nodded, looking at anything besides the other young man. âYes, I believe so. The game had left you exhausted and more vulnerable to sickness. We shouldnât have let Akashi-kun linger any further after it ended.â
âItâs alright,â waved off the redhead. âUnless you think Iâm still sick and canât join the party tonightâŠ?â
Tetsuya then let himself fully observe the other. He couldnât tell much about Akashiâs pallorâagain, due to the lightingâbut he seemed to be okay now, judging from his steady breathing and lack of sweat. âIt seems youâre fit to join the gift exchange, at least.â
âThatâs good,â sighed the redhead. âNow, I have a few questions.â At Tetsuyaâs nod, he continued. âFirst, what happened to my room?â
Tetsuya had to chuckle at that. âAomine-kun, Kise-kun, and Kagami-kun made a mess of the decorations, so they decided to dump all the extra decor and trash here for now.â
âTheyâre going to regret that. Did they put those candles there?â
âNo, I did, but theyâre from Momoi-san. The scent is nice, isnât it?â
âYes, it is. I must remember to thank her. Why am I only in my boxers?â
âI had to give you a sponge bath a while ago. Iâm really sorry I hadnât immediately tucked you in. I accidentally spilled juice on my clothes after I had just finished on you so I had to take a bath first. I was hoping the air would help stabilize your body temperature while I was away.â
âItâs no big deal,â said Akashi, glancing away with that darkness in his cheeks once again. âBut now that brings us to the main questions.â
âWhich are?â
This time, Akashi looked dead-serious at him. âWhy am I tied to my bed and when am I going to be released?â
Despite the entrancing glow of Akashiâs eyes, the slight pout of the redheadâs lips caught Tetsuyaâs attention more and before he knew it, he was laughing mirthfully at the image.
Akashiâs frown deepened. âReally, Kuroko, you were actually going to let me suffer in this position for several more minutes? My wrists are hurting already.â
Tetsuya laughed some more, before starting to climb onto the lap of a startled Akashi. âYouâre tied to the bed,â answered the blunette as he sobered up, âbecause I wanted it so, and youâre going to be released when I want you to be.â
⊠Good godâŠ
I told you this was a gift.
Beneath his nonchalant demeanor, Tetsuya was panicking. He was on Akashi-kunâs lapâcovered by the comforter, unfortunately, but stillâand he was actually starting his attack on the redhead right now. So far, Akashi was undoubtedly shocked and there was no trace of disgust or horror in his expression. In fact, he seemed almost pleased...
The blunette had to swallow at the piercing gaze he was given.
âYou did this?â asked Akashi, his voice lowering. Tetsuya felt like he might shiver at the reverberation it evoked. Â
âYes, since itâs about time you stop running from me and start talking,â replied Tetsuya, eyes hard with warning.
But Akashi looked away. âWhat are you talking about? And why are you naked?â
âThree months ago, Akashi-kun. Three months ago, you kissed me on the mouth while I was asleep.â At the mention of it, the redheadâs eyes flickered and his brows slightly creased.
âAnd yes, I hadnât actually been sleeping that time,â he added when Akashi was about to reply.
âSo?â said Akashi after a while, at a loss with what to say.
âSo what does it mean?â countered Tetsuya.
For a time, both of them were silent. The muted noise from outside the bedroom did little to interrupt their individual reveries. Midorima could be heard lecturing Kise and Takao on the finer points of gift-wrapping. Momoiâs voice echoed as she reprimanded Aomine about him drinking so early in the evening. Kagami and Murasakibara were bickering about the cake while Himuro acted as the referee. The other guests were laughing and shouting about something, and both of them knew that Akashiâs apartment was packed with people tonight.
âIt means I like you.â
Tetsuya whipped his head up to meet Akashiâs eyes, softened by the candlelight and lamplight.
âYou havenât given up on me in high school, Kuroko,â continued the redhead, smiling softly. âAnd even after that, year after year, you would continue to reach out to me. Iâm not quite sure when it all started but once we had graduated, I already knew what I was feeling for you.â
âSo thenâŠâ Tetsuya could feel his heart beating faster. âWhy didnât you say anything?â
Akashiâs eyes looked up at the ceiling. âBecause itâs not easy being with me. If I told you what I felt, what would happen to us?â
âThat doesnât sound like the Akashi-kun I know of,â teased the blunette softly.
Akashi stared back at him with apprehensive eyes. âIf we got together, then what about my father?â
Tetsuya fell silent at that. He had a point. While he knew that Akashi-kun was mostly free from the pressure of being perfect in his fatherâs eyes now, he still canât escape the duties of an heir. The redhead can hide here in his apartment all he wantsâwanting to be free from his fatherâs presence was the reason why Akashi bought this place for collegeâbut he still canât ignore that his father controls a part of his life. And while Akashi-kun is not yet his own man, with his own money and own successes, he has no choice but to answer to the older Akashi.
âThen Iâll just have to prove to him that Iâll be invaluable to you and to him.â
When the redhead couldnât reply just yet, Tetsuya surged on. âI canât offer much right now and weâre still a bit young, but Iâm going to work hard so that I can prove myself to you and to the world that I can proudly stand beside you. Because I like you, Akashi-kun, and I want this, and if you want this, too, then why canât we try this?â
Akashi was still staring by the time the words escaped Tetsuya. All he had left to say was that, âDonât you ever just want to take a leap of faith and see where it lands you?â
It took a while but slowly, Akashiâs serious expression morphed and he started smiling. âTaking the jump doesnât sound so bad every now and then.â
Tetsuya couldnât help but return the expression as his heart swelled. They stared at each otherâs eyesâmagenta red and powder blueâstudying their reflections in them. The blunette didnât know who started moving first, but before he knew it, he was inches closer to the redhead. He put his hands against Akashiâs covered chest and leaned ever closer towards his face.
âKurokocchi, weâre gonna eat now! Is Akashicchi okay now?â
The knocks and muffled shout startled the two young men on the bed, and they both stared at the door in the process. Tetsuya was cursing his blonde ex-teammate for ruining the moment.
âOi, donât shout. He might still be sleeping,â said Kagamiâs voice in response to Kiseâs.
âHeâs taking a while, though. Ya think heâs doing something to Akashi already?â commented Aomine jokingly, joining the two.
âLike what, you idiot?â Now that was Midorima.
âTaking pictures of Aka-chin, maybe? He doesnât usually get sick. This is Kuro-chinâs chance.â And now thereâs Murasakibara, with a bit of crunching in his words.
âGuys, stop crowding here. Youâre going to wake Akashi-kun up!â scolded Momoi in a furious whisper.
âIf I open this door and you are all still next to it, I will kick you out.â
Tetsuya flinched at the loud commanding voice, turning to Akashi to find his left eye yellow-gold instead of the usual red. Then, a sudden scampering of feet sounded off behind the door, accompanied by nervous bickering. Â
The heterochromatic-eyed Akashi huffed. âHonestly, they have no tact.â Strangely, the action made Tetsuya chuckle and out of fondness, he couldnât help kissing the otherâs cheek. It surprised Akashi, but he quickly leaned forward and the last thing Tetsuyaâs sight noticed was the gold shifting to red.
Dry lips slid against his, but the blunette could care less about its texture. What mattered the most in that exact moment was that, after months of pining and wishing and making himself more visible in Akashi-kunâs eyes, he was finally right here in his arms.
A clinking of metal and creaking of the bed called his attention and Tetsuya opened his eyes to find the redhead fluttering his at the same time. âSo⊠do you have any immediate plans of releasing me yet?â asked Akashi in a suggestive, playful tone.
The blunette blinked and looked up to see that otherâs wrists were still in cuffs.
Well⊠almost in his arms.
âAnd really, why are you half-naked?â
He laughed softly at Akashiâs slight pout. Did the redhead even realize that he was pouting? âWell, I was hoping to have my way with you as punishment for letting me wait all those yearsâŠâ confessed Tetsuya with a wicked glint in his eyes. To his credit, Akashi-kunâs brows raised a fraction, surprised at his boldness, and he dared to ogle at his undressed form. âBut seeing as people are still around us, I guess this game can wait.â
Akashi, with his head clear, was finally feeling himself back in his element. âBut what if you canât chain me next time?â he asked with a smirk.
Tetsuya leaned over and rubbed his nose against Akashiâs, resting his forehead against his. âYouâll let me catch you, since Iâm your Christmas gift,â he whispered, his heart swelling in happiness.
It swelled even more when the redhead captured his lips once again.
No fair, big brother! I was the one who scared them away.
Shut up and wait for your turn.
Seijuurou sighed in relief as the last of his guests finally left the building and the Christmas party was officially over. Looking around, he was glad that he had guilt-tripped them into cleaning his apartment.
You shouldâve let me do it. They wouldâve moved faster, Iâm sure.
Cut them some slack. Youâre too frightening, brother.
He walked around to check all roomsâsweet, sweet freedom after being tied to his own bedâand soon enough, found himself standing in front of his bedroom. He had let Kuroko sleep inside since he had been kind enough to take care of him while he was sick.
Technically, he did that because he was scheming somethingâŠ
Details, details. Just go already. You know youâve been impatient to see him since we left the bedroom.
Steeling himself and lightly squeezing the wrapped box he had in hand, Seijuurou opened the door. The room was still in the same messâalbeit no more trash on the floorâand the same dimness and jasmine scent in the air, but this time, there was something different on his bed.
Or rather, a certain half-naked someone who was clearly wide awake and smiling coyly at him.
Seijuurou suddenly remembered all the times someone in his party had looked at him and Kuroko with a smile or a meaningful look during the past few hours. He couldnât say he was bothered much about it. In fact, it gave him a sense of peace and security knowing that they really were friends who cared about him.
âSo, are you ready for your gift, Akashi-kun?â asked Kuroko, twirling those damn handcuffs.
Seijuurou chuckled and crawled onto the bed until he was kneeling atop the blunetteâs form. He couldnât help smirking mischievously when Kuroko gasped softly at him.
âIf youâre ready for mine, Tetsuya.â
End
OMG I AM SORRY WAS IT TOO CORNY IâM REALLY SORRY THIS IS MY FIRST TIME I HOPE I HADNâT RUINED IT TOO MUCH I WAS REALLY SLEEPY WHEN I WROTE THE BULK OF THIS BUT IâM GLAD YOU READ THIS I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW AS THE TRASH THAT I REALLY AM OKay i should stop yelling
Bonus:
âH-Honestly⊠A-Akashi-kun⊠youâd⊠mmmn⊠do⊠well to l-learn⊠ahh ⊠p-patienceâŠâ
âIâve have enough of that in the past four years Iâve let my idiot other self wait for the âright momentâ. Now let me have my kiss.â
And to think that you had been planning to stab our little perpetrator here with a fountain penâŠ
Donât worry, brother. We can stab him with something else as revenge for looking far too delectable in that gameâs maid outfit yesterday.
⊠Huh. Something to consider.
How do they say it again? âPretty pleaseâ?
Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year~! ăœàŒŒàșÙÍàșàŒœïŸÂ

He had been alone in his apartment, waiting for the curry to brew in his pot. The room felt a little too empty without his teammates. All of them were gone visiting family, spread out all across Japan. But Kagamiâs family? He wasnât quite sure he even had one at that point. The tightness in his chest pissed him off. Heâs man enough to handle this. Why should he feel pain over parents who felt nothing for their children?
Shit. Donât cry. Goddammit, donât cry.
Ding dong. His eyes moved up to the clock. It was a little over eight but everyone had already gone home at that point. He sucked up a huge breath before walking over to the door.
What the â his eyes blinked a few times just to make sure he wasnât seeing things.
Aomine Daiki. At his doorstep. Carrying cake. Yawning.
The yawning he wasnât surprised. But what was he even â âWhat are you doing here?â
âThatâs a nice way to greet someone on Christmas.â He rolled his eyes, pushing the red-haired man out of the way and stepping into the apartment. He sniffed the air. It had become all too familiar for him to scent out Kagamiâs apartment whenever he dropped by. It always smelled like something different. Sometimes he had cookies baking in the oven, other times ramen cooking in a pot. Most of the time, it was just his scent. Aomine didnât mind that. He turned to Kagami who was still standing shellshocked at the door. âAre you going to just stand there forever, princess? Or are you going to feed me?â
It was his turn to scowl. âWhy should I feed you?â
âA little bird named Kuroko told me someone was feeling lonely today so I thought Iâd drop by. Got your red cake shit. You like this one right?â He lifted up the box. It was from Kagamiâs favorite bakery. How in the world did he manage to get a cake on Christmas day when everything was closed? âI know a guy who knows a guy.â He answered the manâs unsaid question. âNow are we going to eat or what?â
âDonât have a lot of food,â Kagami shrugged. âThought I was eating alone tonight.â
âWell, youâre not.â Aomine ruffled his hair, earning another annoyed look from Kagami. But also a blush. âSo hurry up and make something for me too.â
Despite their rivalry, Aomine and Kagami cozied up pretty well whenever they hung out. Two basketball fanatics in one room. What did you expect? TĆĆâs ace always made himself at home whenever he dropped by â usually unannounced, which only pissed Kagami off more. He huffed then returned to the kitchen, adding more spices and meat into the dish because he knew how obsessed Aomine was with beef. His food bills always skyrocketed whenever Aomine came around. As he moved around the kitchen preparing food, Aomine kept throwing random questions his way.
âSo howâs Seirin doing? You guys prepared for Inter-High yet?â
âGoddamn, why is Kobe retiring so soon? Do you know how much that pisses me off?â
âDid you catch TĆĆâs game last week?â
All these things. Kagami moved the spoon around the pot and brought it up to his mouth for a taste. Not bad, not bad at all. However, the heat that pressed up against his back so suddenly made him jump. âThat smells pretty good,â Aomine mumbled, his stomach rumbling. Damn. He had escaped his familyâs Christmas dinner so fast that he didnât get to eat much. He was famished.
Once he told his family that Kagami was spending Christmas alone, they all had shared knowing looks. That was before they practically thrown their son out to brace the cold for the man they expected to be their son-in-law soon enough. Then Aomine went to get cake.
âO-Oy, donât stand so close.â Kagami stammered, attempting to shove him out of the way. But Aomineâs arms had trapped him in between, limiting his movement.
âStop moving around like that, Iâm just watching.â
âYou can watch from the side.â
âI like it this way. Shut the fuck up and get cooking.â
âWhy are you so damn rudeâow! What the hell? Did you just bite my ear?â
âYes, so shut up.â
âYouâre so damn weird.â
âYou are too and Iâm hungry.â
Then the two of them settled in front of the television, legs stretched out underneath the table, butts planted on the carpet, body side by side, shoulders brushing. Aomine kept picking at his food and Kagami had to smack his hand away a couple of times â well, more than a couple. Afterwards, Kagami lied down on the couch, a hand draped over his eyes. âFuck, Iâm so full. Whyâd I make that much?â
For the first time in a while, Kagami heard Aomineâs laughter echo in the room. He quickly removed his hand to capture the beautiful sight of Aomineâs head thrown back, his mouth open with a smile into his memory. âDidnât think youâd ever be full since youâre such a damn glutton.â He blinked a few times and tried to calm his racing heart. Dear God, what was he even thinking? This was his rival. He rubbed his eyes furiously. Maybe this was his emotions messing with him. âOy, Bakagami.â
Kagami growled and opened his eyes, âWhat?â A bag appeared in front of his eyes. He raised an eyebrow.
âTake it, you moron.â
âWho says that when they give someone something?â Kagami muttered under his breath and accepted the bag. He pulled out a nicely wrapped box. Did he â impossible. Aomine couldnât wrap gifts. He gently peeled the tape open and found a Nike box underneath. Inside the box was the pair of shoes heâd been looking for all over. His dream shoes. Goddamn. âWhat â how did you â whenââ
âSaw them a couple of days ago so I thought I should get them for you.â
Bullshit. He called bullshit. This pair had sold out the hour it was released online. Stores barely had any of them and, wherever he looked, everything was gone. Shit. Kagami couldnât help the smile from breaking across his face as he mussed up Aomineâs hair. âThanks.â They werenât sentimental but it didnât mean that they didnât have their own way of showing appreciation.
Aomine glared at him. âOpen up the cake.â
After that gift, he didnât care if he had to bake another cake for the damn man. They returned side by side once more, cake in front of them, nearly demolished. âArenât you spending Christmas with your family?â Kagami licked up his fingers, whatever remained of the cream cheese frosting on his hand.
âAlready did,â Aomine burped and Kagami gave him a disgusted look. âCanât let someone cry on Christmas day, can I?â
âI wasnât crying,â he snapped. He almost did. But he didnât.
âWell, whatever.â He bumped shoulders with Kagami. âNobody should spend Christmas alone, alright. Thatâs all I was thinking. And fuck, can you turn up the heat in this place? Itâs still so damn cold.â
When Aomine arrived, he had been covered from head to toe in snow. His midnight blue hair had gone white and his coat blanketed with a layer of snowflakes. Kagami grabbed a blanket from the couch and threw it at him. âDumbass, this is why you wear more layers when you walk out there.â Aomine bundled himself up in the blanket until he noticed the tiny goosebumps rising on Kagamiâs arms. He threw the fabric over his friend and brought him closer. Kagamiâs face reddened quickly. âW-What are you doing?â
âYouâre freezing too. Body heat will help warm us up so shut up.â He looked down at Kagami who was covered up to his neck and grumbling. His lips twitched. He looked cute like that. Like a burrito all wrapped up. Except⊠his thumb brushed on the corner of Kagamiâs lips, embarrassing him even further. âCake. You had cake.â
âStop being weird, stupid.â Kagami frowned.
âWhy do you think Iâm being weird?â
âI donât know, youâre extra touchy today.â
Pause. âYou really are an idiot, arenât you?â
âWhat?â
âBeen months and he still hasnât picked up on it.â Aomine sighed to no one in particular, irritating Kagami. âAnyway, I should head back.â
Kagamiâs heart fell with his words. So soon? Damn. He didnât like the idea of Aomine walking out alone in this weather, especially since they called for a blizzard in an hour. He also didnât like the idea of his apartment being all quiet and empty again. Absentmindedly, he reached for Aomineâs hand before he could shrug on his coat. Aomine glanced down at him in surprise. âS-Sorry,â he cleared his throat, yanking his hand away. âUh, thought you had something on your sleeve.
Aomine blinked curiously at Kagami before a smirk appeared on his lips. âMissing me already?â
âFuck off.â Aomine plopped back down and switched on the TV. Kagami gave him a look of disbelief, âWerenât you leaving?â
âI donât have to.â
Kagami stayed quiet at that. It wasnât fair to him, but Kagami wanted to be a little selfish sometimes when it came to the blue-haired man. So he stayed by his side, screaming at the television with every bad call from the referee, a good move from a player.
âYo, when are you gonna get yourself a girlfriend?â Aomine suddenly asked, his eyes still glued to the teamâs movements on the screen.
His heart stopped. Girlfriend, huh? He wasnât sure. His heart was attached to basketball right now and he couldnât imagine someone coming in between him and basketball. He needed someone who could be part of his life alongside of it. Someone who was just as in love as basketball as he was. He turned and found Aomine.
Aomine Daiki. The gods of basketball above had probably blessed this man with immense talent and unlimited potential. Kagamiâs gaze traced his features from his dark blue eyes that glowed with every comment he made, to the shape of his strong jaw, and to the curve of his lips that parted with every word. Tempting. So tempting.
When he felt lips covering his own, Kagami nearly leapt back but Aomine kept him in place, hand on the back of his head and an arm around his waist. Kagami blushed a billion shades of red, his eyes darting around the room in panic. What the â what was going on â was this real â why was he â oh my God.
Aomine was kissing him.
Kissing him!
And heâll be damned if he didnât admit that the man was a damn good kisser. Fuck. Aomine pulled away when he didnât feel Kagami respond. The redhead was breathless and speechless. âWhat â why â what the fuck?â
âYou looked like you wanted me to kiss you so I did.â
âWhat made you think that?!â
âYou kept looking at my lips.â
Well, that was true. And he did want Aomine to â but, fuck, this wasnât right, was it? Two guys werenât supposed to⊠but it felt so damn right. Someone as in love as basketball as he was. Someone who would never make him choose between the two. Someone who was here when no one else wasnât. Kagamiâs mouth opened and closed like a guppy.
âGuess I was wrong,â Aomine shrugged. âWell, this has been sufficiently awkward so, now, I should start headingââ
âNo.â Aomine turned back to face him with a curious look. Fuck. Kagamiâs face was all flushed, his lips parted in surprise. His dick stirred in his pants. Goddamn. âI mean, thereâs a blizzard. So you shouldnât go. Itâs dangerous.â
âSo I should stay because of the blizzard?â
âYes.â
âNo other reason?â
Kagamiâs heart pinched. Why couldnât he just admit it to himself? He liked Aomine. He fucking liked the man. He was rough and lazy as hell, he was crude and nasty most of the time. But he liked it. He liked all of it. âWell, I mean, I just â I donât â I canât really â I donât know.â
Aomine sighed, flicking his forehead. âStupid, donât feel pressured to do anything. I wanted to kiss you so I did and you looked like you wanted it to. But donât think that Iâm going to be coercing you into doing something that you donât want to do.â
No, no, he was wrong. He wanted it. He wanted to kiss Aomine. He wanted to cuddle with him. He wanted to cook for him. He wanted to scream over basketball with him. But the words couldnât leave his mouth.
âAnyway, Iâm tired so Iâll crash on your couch. See ya in the morning.â He flopped back on the couch, back facing Kagami.
The uneasiness settled in the depths of his gut again. It felt like Aomine was quickly slipping away from him. Why couldnât he just say it? Three damn words. I like you. I want you. Stay with me. Be with me. Anything.
âYo, stop staring. I can feel it.â Aomine muttered.
Kagami gulped down the lump in his throat. âHey.â
âWhat?â
He didnât turn. Dammit. âHey.â
âWhat?â
âLook here.â
âIâm tired.â
âPlease.â
âGo to sleep, Kagami.â
His heart wrenched again. âAomine.â
Silence.
âAomine, come on.â
Silence.
âDaiki.â
He turned and his eyebrows pinched at the center. âWhyâd youââ Kagamiâs mouth quickly covered his before another word could leave his lips. Aomine was surprised to say the least but he liked seeing Kagamiâs eyes closed, his cheeks pink, as he kissed him. He smiled and kissed him back. Their lips moved in sync and Aomine tugged him up so the two of them were pressed against each other on the couch. He mumbled against his lips, âYou donât have to do this, you know. Iâll work harder to make you like me.â
Kagami almost cried. Fuck. This man was something else. âI already like you.â
âYou shouldâve said so from the beginning,â Aomine rumbled.
âCanât really do that.â
âWhy not?â
âYou wouldâve left.â
âFor you, I wouldâve stayed.â Kagami sighed in contentment and buried his face in embarrassment in Aomineâs neck. Aomine just chuckled and wrapped his arm around him. âWhat? You gonna cry on me now?â
âFuck off,â he mumbled.
âYou should spend next Christmas with my family.â
âThatâll be awkward.â
âThey like you.â
âHow do they know me?â
Pause. âI talk about you a lot, I guess.â
Kagami jerked away and stared at him incredulously.
âDonât look at me like that.â
âYou talk about me?â
âYou come up from time to time.â
Kagami grinned.
âDonât look so happy, stupid. How do you know Iâm not shit-talking you to my parents?â
âBecause your shit-talk is when youâre actually into someone.â
âTrue,â he sighed. âWhyâd I fall for an idiot like you again?â

A/N: Merry late Christmas, dear Luna. We apologize for the tardiness of this gift and hope that you have a wonderful holiday with your fam & friends <3 (The pixel above is supposed to be you, modified from the KNB pixels, and I hope that you like it! :3)
âLuna, Luna,â your friend sang out, bursting into the room with such splendor. She had on a gorgeous pink dress that sparkled underneath the light and twirled all the way over to you. Plopping her hands on your shoulders, she grinned. âStop studying, come on.â
Your lips twitched as you looked up at her, âWhere are you going?â
âThis party.â
âYou know I donât like parties.â
âI know,â she groaned. âBut come on. Youâre in college! Live a little! If youâre going to be writing articles all day in between dance practices, youâre going to be missing out on a lot. Especially cute college guys.â She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. âIâve seen tons and I bet you youâre going to like a lot of them.â
âMikaââ
âI know, I know. Youâre not interested in romantic relationships right now because youâre focused on your future.â You grinned, happy that she knew your exact words. Guess you said it way too often already. âBut hey, maybe a cute guy was meant to be part of your future.â
âButââ
âNo buts. This is the last time. This is Christmas. You have to relax and celebrate! Itâll be fun, I promise.â
You sighed, glancing at the pile of work nestled on your desk. It was getting a bit lonely especially since you werenât going home this winter break. Â It wouldnât hurt to give one party a try. You didnât have to stay for long anyway. If you wanted to leave, you could do just that. âFine. Letâs do this.â
âYes!â
It didnât take you long to regret your decision. Piles of sweaty bodies shoved into one room. Loud music blasting through the speakers, practically shaking the walls. Drinks sloshed in glasses, spilling onto the floor and making it sticky. The whole atmosphere was giving you a giant headache. In times like these, youâd just escape into the comfort of your own room. But if you didnât break out of your comfort zone soon enough, when were you going to ever do it? So you sucked it up. It was just for an hour or two. You could put up with it.
Mistletoes were hanging in doorways, giving people a chance to exchange smooches. Despite the chaos around you, the mistletoe idea was pretty cute, especially for people who were too shy to make the first move. It gave them an opportunity without it being too dramatic.
âYo, Kuroko!â
Your heart stopped. You whirled around in search for the person they were looking for. Kuroko. God, so many people had that name but it never stopped you from looking for him in a crowd. Heâd always disappeared, even during middle school when the two of you went to school together. You didnât know why but the blue-haired boy in the back of the room had always caught your eye.
When he didnât appear for graduation, it was a definite bummer. You had planned to confess to him but it never happened and, when you heard what had transpired between the supposed Generation of Miracles and another school, you regretted not having talked to him even more. Maybe you couldâve helped, maybe you couldnât. But that what if would forever loom in the back of your mind.
You weaved and squeezed through the throngs of people, hands shoving others out of the way as your brown eyes scanned each and every face for something â rather, someone â familiar. Then you found him. And he instantly took your breath away. The same clear blue eyes that would put the sky to shame on a sunny day. His hair seemed to glow underneath the dim lighting of the room. His lips parted as a laugh slipped past. Dear Lord. How was it possible for a man to be this beautiful?
âKuroko, I think sheâs staring.â His friend nudged him, laughing.
Kuroko raised an eyebrow before his eyes found you. Luna. He remembered you. Middle school. You used to check out the basketball team a lot until final exams arrived. He particularly remembered you because you always wore those cat ears and he was an animal lover after all. His lips twitched in amusement. You were always sort of cute in his eyes. Not to mention, he caught you dancing in school once and was impressed by how passionate and skilled you were.
Before you could open your mouth to greet him, another guy bumped into you, nearly toppling you face first into the ground. However, a pair of hands caught you quickly, placing you back on your feet. You blinked curiously up at the person who had saved you from a lifetime of embarrassment. Kuroko. A squeak escaped your lips.
He smiled down at you, âAre you alright?â
âY-Yes, fine.â
âLuna, right?â
Your eyes widened. Kuroko thought of a doe when he saw your eyes, big and innocent. Pure. His lips curved up again when you nodded, âYes. I mean, hi. Itâs been a while.â
âYes, it has. How have you been?â The music was much too loud and it bothered you. You winced when you felt another blast in your ears. Kuroko noticed, of course, and maneuvered you towards the door. Thank goodness the porch was free of people. He sat you down on the stairs and handed you a glass of water. âDrink up.â
Taking a small sip, you breathed a sigh of relief for the first time that night. Parties like that werenât your scene after all. Too wild. You liked dancing but that kind of environment might be too much. âThank you.â
âBetter?â
âMuch, thank you.â
Kuroko had that comforting presence that seemed to always put you at ease whenever you were around him. âYou looked out of place⊠that was not as offensive as it came out. What I meant was that you looked very uncomfortable.â
âI was.â
âHow have you been otherwise though? Itâs been three years, I believe.â
âYeah, it has.â You murmured. Despite the time that had past between the two of you, the butterflies in your stomach were still fluttering like crazy. His leg was pressed up against yours where he sat next to you. You could feel the heat radiating from his body. âIâve been well. And you?â
He smiled, âIâm good.â
âAre you still playing basketball?â
âOf course.â The surprise must have been evident on your face because he chuckled, âAnd youâre wondering why because you mustâve heard of the incident.â
âI-I mean you really donât have to tell me if you donât want to, I was justââ
âItâs fine, Luna.â He nodded, smiling reassuringly. âI went to Seirin because I wanted a change in purpose and tactics. It was a good change. I had a good team with great teammates. They made me believe in basketball again.â
âThatâs good to hear,â you grinned.
âYou donât have to look so relieved.â He laughed. âI love basketball too much to let go of it after one terrible event.â
âThatâs true,â you murmured. âYou always looked so happy playing basketball.â
âAs happy as you were when you danced.â You blushed, eyes finding his in surprise. âI saw you practicing once. You looked beautiful.â Cue further reddening and you burying your face in your hands, mumbling âOh Godâ to yourself. âDonât worry. You were incredible. I wished I got to see you do a formal performance. Iâm sure it would be great. Are you still dancing?â
âY-Yes,â you cleared your throat. âBut Iâm focusing on journalism as of now. Dance is something I canât let go though.â
âVery true,â he agreed. âI canât imagine someone letting their passion slip away so easily.â
A loud crash from inside the house made you jump. Kuroko saw the frightened look on your face  and rubbed your back comfortingly. He could practically hear your heart thudding in your chest. âFragile heart,â he mumbled quietly to himself. Little did he know that your increase in heart rate was due to the fact that his hand was warm against your back.
âWhat?â
âNothing,â he shook his head, seeming amused with his own thoughts, which only proved to confuse you even more. âWell, this has been a nice reunion. I hope weâll see each other more.â He paused then pulled out a pen and took your hand. He scribbled numbers on it and smiled. âIf you ever need anything, donât hesitate to call.â
âT-Thank you.â
âMerry Christmas, Luna.â
âMerry Christmas.â
Even if the weather was cold, you could still feel the warmth that was left in his touch.

A/N: Merry late Christmas, Niu!. We hope you enjoy this small fic of one of your favorite pairings! (This is a modern college au!)
Momoi moans as she sits up, rubbing sleep from her eyes as she moves her hands upwards to clutch her thudding head. She felt sore and disgusting, especially considering the fact that she felt hungover; that was odd in itself because she liked being in control of herself â this hangover implied the opposite. It was only when she looked over did she notice Aomine snoring into a pillow while his limbs were sprawled across the mattress.Â
âDai-chan!â Momoi prods his sleeping figure. âDai-chan, get up!â
Needless to say, Aomine did not respond. Momoi grabs the covers and yanks them off, revealing their lack of full clothing. Instantly, Momoi turns red as she ducks back under the covers while shielding her underwear-clad state.Â
âMmm, SatsukiâŠdonât wanna go to practiceâŠâ Aomine moans before turning over.
Momoi huffs in response, brushing pink stands out of her face before pushing Aomine off the bed as he lands with a loud âthump!â on the floor. The shirtless idiot bolts upward from his sprawled out position on the floor as he shoots a glare toward the pinkette.Â
âWhat happened last night?â Momoi rubs at her temples gingerly, grimacing.
Aomine, making no attempt to cover himself or his boxers, scratched the back of his head in response. âThere was something about partying and this girl⊠but thatâs all I remember before waking up.âÂ
The pink-haired female tries to wrack her brain for memories, but kept coming up empty.
âAnyway, if I have to get up, you should too.â Aomine growls, rubbing his eye with one hand while his free arm reached outwards, his fingers outstretched toward the covers.
âNo! Iâm not wearing a shirt! Or pants for that matter!â Momoi firmly clutches the covers. âI donât even know how we woke up next to each other!â
Aomine pauses, taking time to process the information. âSo, I woke up next to you only in boxers? And neither of us know what happened last night?â
The two freeze at the implication, horror flashing across their faces as they slowly turn to look at each other.Â
âNoâŠâ
âBut howâŠâ
âThis is freaking impossibleâŠâ
âOkay, but does anyone else know? We can pretend like this never happened. No one will ever know.â Momoi furrows her eyebrows, worrying over what transpired the night before until Aomine interrupts her thoughts.
âDidnât we have plans with everyone else to meet up at Maji burger?â
If it was socially acceptable at that moment, Momoi would have buried herself in the covers and screamed.
Momoiâs careful planning ensured that nothing would be revealed. Nothing. When duo walked towards their location strategically late, they didnât even notice the mischievous looks pointed in their direction.
âHi Momoi,â Kise grins. âHow was your night?â
So much for keeping it under the lid. Momoi nearly knocks over the salt shaker beside her at the question. That was a coincidence, right?
âAomine-san was with you last night, wasnât he?â Kurokoâs face â as usual â gave nothing away.Â
âYeah, but I canât remember what happened,â Aomine quips, âtoo crazy of a night.â
âI was keeping an eye on you, like usual,â Momoi lies through her teeth. If Aomine kept talking, he would give the situation away.Â
âThatâs not what Kise-chin said,â Murasakibaraâs drawl cuts through her fabricated lie like a sword.Â
Beside the giant, Akashi sips at his milkshake before continuing Murasakibaraâs train of thought. âBoth of you were snapchatting all of last nightâs events. Iâd advise you two to take it down from your story right after you watch to see what happened.â
The two people in question pulled out their phones and watched in horror to see each other meet up, go to a club, dance, drink, and ultimately go home together. Momoi buries her head into her palms, half in denial.
Kise pats her shoulder while Midorima puts in his two cents, âit makes sense, Taurus is ranked lowest yesterday. Oddly enough, Aomineâs sign, Virgo, is ranked lowest today, but highest yesterday.â
Momoi stands up, her chair scraping against the floor as she excuses herself to the restroom, assumedly to compose herself.Â
âIâll go check on her,â Aomine drags his fingers through his hair in frustration, still confused how anything happened.
Kagami starts to laugh as Aomine vanishes from view, mouth half full of hamburger. âNothing happened,â he nearly chokes on the mouthful of food. âAomine sent a private snap to me. Here, Iâll replay it.â
The friends peered over his phone to see Momoi asleep on her bed while Aomine was prodding her, trying to make her wake up. Laughing to himself, he strips to his boxers, saying that this would be funny in the morning before collapsing on the bed beside to her.
Kise laughs, pausing to gasp for air, âAomine pranked himself! And he doesnât even know it.â
âShould we tell them?â Midorima asks.
ââŠNah.â Kagami shoves a fry into his mouth.
Kurokoâs quiet agreement sealed the deal, âWe always thought they should end up together anyway.â

This is a bit late but this is for @chiyo-yo-chan as her KnB Secret Santa gift! Merry Christmas and I hope you like it!
Did everyone got a gift? This was such an amazing experience I hope next year you guys make another secret Santa!
Not everyone yet unfortunately since a few are still late. Weâre hoping that everyone will receive a gift by tomorrow. Otherwise, weâll have to find another way to fill in the gaps ( âąÌáâą Ì)ï»â§
Hello there! Iâm Hina, your Secret Santa! I am extremely sorry for the late gift, and I really hope you like it. ;_; Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
âKiyoshi-senpai, please donât hurt yourself.â Kuroko Tetsuya looks up from the small, black and white canine donning a blue sweater with white snowflakes littered all over the wool to see the tall brunette standing on a stool, and then on his tip-toes to reach the top of their Christmas tree. Kuroko had no idea how the Iron Heart had managed to find a tree that was somehow bigger than him, would still fit inside their shared apartment, and one that requires the 194 cm male to get on his tip toes, much less use a stool.
âIâm fine, Kuroko!â Kiyoshi laughs, making one more effort to get the glassy, star-shaped tree topper on the apex of the fragrant length of wood and pine. With one last lean and half-hop, he manages to just reach the top of the tree, placing the final ornament that would complete their Christmas decorations. They had originally a plastic star that Kuroko had brought with him from his house, but the topper had been a present from the rest of their former team to celebrate the two living together. âThere, weâre finished! Just in time fo-âÂ
âKiyoshi-senpai! Watch out!â Seirinâs former center barely has time to register the stoolâs tipping over as he pulls away from the tree, his field of vision changing from their festive Christmas tree to the tinsel covered ceiling in barely a second, before he lands on something hard and small.Â
âOuchâŠsorry, Iâm fine..â He looks over to where his powder blue partner was sitting, surprised to see Nigou barking and wagging his tail on the couch, with no Kuroko in sight.Â
âK-Kiyoshi-senpaiâŠI canât breathâŠâ Teppei suddenly becomes aware of the thing, or rather person, that had cushioned his fall.Â
âU-Uwahh! Iâm sorry, Kuroko! Are you okay? Are you alive?â The younger male was laying on the ground where Kiyoshi had fallen as well, (barely) conscious and chest rising up and down rapidly as his crushed lungs and racing heart restore circulation back to the rest of his body. Kiyoshi picks him up by the shoulder, shaking him gently, with the expression of a wounded puppy. Kuroko canât help a gentle smile, sitting up and touching his head.Â
âIâm fine, Kiyoshi-senpai. Are you alright?âÂ
âYouâre the one who got more hurt, didnât you?â Kiyoshi sighs in slight exasperation.Â
âAnd another thing, donât call me âSenpaiâ anymore. We graduated already, remember? Weâre not just senpai or kouhai.âÂ
âAh, sorry, I canât help it.â Kuroko doesnât sound very apologetic, but Kiyoshi chalks that up to the fact that he had nearly killed the man by landing on him.Â
âAt the very least, we managed to finish everything before ChristmasâŠâ Kiyoshi looks around the living room, smiling fondly at the result of weeks of work. Silver, gold, red, and green tinsel on the ceiling, snowflakes pasted onto the windows, even Nigou had his own little Christmas tree with bone shaped presents under it, right beside his bed. But perhaps his favorite part of their humble home was the Christmas tree. He and Kuroko had picked it out together, though Kuroko was reluctant to buy the biggest one they could find, since he wouldnât be able to decorate the full tree, but now that it was dressed in glowing bulbs of assorted color, with glass ornaments from friends and family hanging proudly from its branches, topped by the glass star on top from Riko and the others, and with presents from all the people theyâve connected with over the years, the younger man seems to have warmed up to the idea.Â
âItâs beautiful.â Thereâs something moving about Kurokoâs expression, one that prompts Kiyoshi to wrap his arms around him and pull him close, his back pressing up against a strong, warm, and steady chest which expanded as he filled his lungs with the toasty air provided by the internal heating of the apartment. To most, Kurokoâs expression didnât seem to be much different than how it always was. But for Kiyoshi Teppei, who had been watching over Kuroko Tetsuya since his first year of high school, he knew that Seirinâs shadow was pleased. The way his eyes softened, and the corners of his lips were turned up ever so slightly, so imperceptible that even Kiyoshi had to squint to see it, spoke volumes about how meaningful the setup was to him.Â
âYeah. All the memories weâve collected over the years are all hanging from the treeâŠthe fun times with the team, the battles with the Generation of MiraclesâŠthe memories of how we came togetherâŠâ Kiyoshi buries his face into the crook of Kurokoâs shoulder, closing his eyes and inhaling the subtle vanilla scent that wafted from the smooth, flawless skin. âIâm so happy right now, I wish moments like this lasted forever.â
âIf that happened, Christmas would never come.â Kuroko looks up at the clock: 11:55, five minutes to Christmas. They had a busy day tomorrow. Kagami was coming back from America, and the Seirin team was going to get together once more and celebrate together. Then, the Generation of Miracles were going to join them, and they would all go to Kagamiâs house, since it was the biggest, and celebrate once again. Kuroko felt so blessed that he had so many precious people in his life. He couldnât ask for a different present.Â
âKuroko? Can I ask you for something for a present?âÂ
âItâs a bit late, isnât it? The stores are already cl-âÂ
âCall me Teppei?â This time, Kuroko blinks a few times, as if still processing the quesion.Â
âExcuse me?âÂ
âYou always call me Kiyoshi-senpai, or just Kiyoshi if you feel a bit more affectionate. Iâll call you by your first name, too, so please, just this once?â Kuroko turns himself around to look the brunette in the eyes. Warm, the color of melted chocolate, with the same amount of sweetness. Kuroko lets go of a sigh.Â
âMou, what a troublesome child you are.âÂ
âHey, now, thatâs not very nice!â Kiyoshi pouts at this, though the annoyance is feigned. âYou donât have to call me Teppei all the time. There will be time for that later down the road. But I want to be selfish tonightâŠâ Thereâs a long moment of silence that lasts until the long awaited chiming of the clock, indicating that it was now not only midnight, but also Christmas day. Kiyoshi glances at the clock only once, smiling at the beginning of one of his favorite holidays, spent with one of his favorite people.Â
âMerry Christmas, Tetsuya.â A rosy color blankets Kurokoâs cheeks, extending all the way to the tips of his ears as he glances at the carpet. Nigou, who has somehow read the mood all this time, barks to break the quiet as he leaps off the couch, climbing into Kiyoshiâs lap, placing a tiny paw on the manâs bright red Christmas sweater with the dorky reindeer waving its hoof at all who laid eyes on it. Kiyoshi laughs, affectionately stroking the canineâs head. âAha! Merry Christmas to you too, Nigou. Good boyâŠâÂ
âMerry ChristmasâŠTeppeiâŠâ Kiyoshiâs eyes go wide as they snap right back up to meet Kuroko, who is suddenly much closer than he was before, their noses almost touching. Kuroko is embarrassed, but this quickly changes to shock as Kiyoshiâs eyes fill with tears, which the gentle giant immediately attempts to wipe away in a frenzy.Â
âI-Iâm sorry, ahaha, Iâm just so happy right nowâŠâ Kiyoshi scoots closer to the Kuroko, placing a large, but careful hand on the smaller maleâs cheek, leaning in closer and closer, until their faces are just centimeters apart, though for the both of them, a single centimeter is almost a world away. No more words are spoken as their lips meet, the encounter warm enough to melt away the frigid cold of winter.Â
The memories weâve made thus far hold not a single candle to the memories that will come as I embrace this gift of you.Â
