namjoon x gender neutral reader / slice of life, fluff / w.c. 986
collab with @today-we-will-survive for @kpopmoodboardnet ‘s summer event !
You quickly went into your room to grab your phone, sparing a final glance in the mirror to make sure your hair looked okay. “Joon, do I look okay?” you asked as you walked down the stairs. He only laughed and shook his head at you, extending his hand out towards you, which you took.
“Baby, you look fine. Why are you so nervous? It’s just a pool party with my friends.” You looked at him and scoffed slightly.
“Exactly. Your friends. No, scratch that, it’s your best friends so I’m terrified that they won’t approve of me.” One of Namjoon’s oldest friend had invited you both to a pool party to celebrate the first week of summer and he thought it would be a great opportunity for you to meet his group of friends. You were terrified, to say the least, and nothing Namjoon told you helped console you.
“It’ll be fine. They’ll love you, and if for whatever reason they don’t, it doesn’t matter. Because I’m gonna marry you one day so they’ll just have to get used to it.” You stopped walking when his words sunk in and he turned to look at you with a smile. You couldn’t help but feel your cheeks heat up as you smiled and kissed him, finally feeling some form of relief. “Now come on, they’re probably waiting for us.”
About fifteen minutes later, Namjoon was pulling into the driveway of one of the nicest houses you’ve ever seen. You admired the house before asking who it belonged to.
“It’s Jin’s house. But the rest of the guys are always over because it’s the biggest. So I guess you can say it’s their house too.” You laughed and even felt a bit of excitement over meeting the friends your boyfriend spoke so highly of. You unbuckled your seatbelt and opened the door, stepping out of the car, still admiring the house. You waited for Namjoon to finish getting whatever he needed from the trunk before you both walked up to the door. He was about to knock when the door opened and you were met with a guy who looked younger than Namjoon and you. The first thing you noticed was how big and bright his eyes were and you couldn’t help but smile. He greeted Namjoon with a smile and then he turned to you and his smile only grew.
“You must be Y/N! Namjoon talks about you all the time. I’m Jungkook!” He extended his hand and you took it with a smile. You didn’t feel as nervous anymore. After being let in, Namjoon walked to the backyard where the rest of the guys were, introducing you to them. They each greeted you, already acting as if you were one of them, putting your nerves at ease. Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jimin immediately went into the pool, claiming they had been waiting for you two to arrive before getting in. Jin was busy cooking at the grill and Hoseok was helping. Yoongi was sitting on a lawn chair, watching the younger guys play in the pool while he casually sipped at a glass of wine.
“Y/N, come get in the pool with us!” Jimin exclaimed, playfully throwing water at the other two boys. You looked at Namjoon and he nodded with a smile. You took off your cover, leaving you in just your swimwear. There was a variety of pool floats and you chose the one that was shaped like a watermelon slice to hang onto as you went in the water. You played in the water with the boys for a bit before turning to Namjoon to invite him in. He was drinking a beer and talking to the others but he turned to you when you called his name.
“Joon, come get in, please,” you said, faking a pout. He shook his head and put his drink down, walking over to the pool floats and choosing a round donut shaped one. You laughed at his childishness as he got in the water, balancing precariously on the float so he wouldn’t fall into the water. You walked over to him, pulling the float towards the middle of the pool where Jimin and Jungkook were. He was there for a bit, putting his sunglasses on and even closing his eyes. You suppressed a laugh as you noticed Jimin coming closer, making a motion to throw him off his float. When he was close enough, he tipped him over, causing your boyfriend to exclaim in surprise and fall into the water. You laughed and were joined by the others.
“The food is ready if any of you want to eat already!” Jin shouted. At the mention of food, Jimin and Jungkook ran out of the pool and Taehyung came out of the house holding a camera.
“We should take pictures after we eat!” Hoseok exclaimed and everyone agreed, fixing themselves plates to eat. You all sat around a table eating, the music Jimin had chosen serving as background music as the guys made conversation with you, asking the typical questions of how you and Namjoon had met and such. You happily answered them all, glad you were getting along with them all so well. During your meal, Namjoon leaned over to whisper into your ear.
“How are you doing, love?” You smiled and swallowed your food before turning to kiss his cheek.
“Great. They’re all so great and I’m so happy you brought me to meet them.” He smiled and gave you a proper kiss.
“Ew, stop being all lovey,” Yoongi said, but he couldn’t hide the smile on his face. Everyone laughed at his words, yourself included. After the meal, you were handed a popsicle that Jin had brought out from inside the house. You smiled as you sucked on the flavored ice, happy with your boyfriend and the new friends you had made.
a/n This was so much fun to write and the moodboard came out beautiful, thanks to Shay! I can’t wait to keep working on this collab with you!

There had always been something in the woods that attracted them. Maybe it was the sheer power of nature or the calling of Mother Earth, they didn't understand. But just as Hueningkai's fingers tickled with electricity as he stroked along the lightning-struck tree remnants, Beomgyu literally felt the ground breathe under the familiar path they walked upon.
They were all connected: to each other, to this place, where under the watching stars last summer they discovered their powers. Yeonjun and his cheesy ass would say it was fate and the ever so sarcastic Taehyun would just roll his eyes at him. It was Soobin who always tried to make sure they won't end up arguing about things like this. Funnily their powers fit them accurately even if it wouldn't be the case at first glance. Hueningkai still bore the sparkling excitement of childhood while Taehyun was impulsive like fire, hair red like flames, ash brown haired Beomgyu was solid like the earth beneath their feet, Soobin was soothing like the calming spring breezes and Yeonjun was ever so changing like the wildness of the sea, his locks azure blue like ocean waves.
Unlike last summer's blazing Sun, this time rain clouds hovered over them and heavy wind formed goosebumps over their skin. Soobin had always been on good terms with his element, believing that he wasn't supposed to modify the natural course of things to his advantage but for this time only, he dissipated the clouds with a flick of his wrist. Yeonjun flashed him a grateful smile before he turned back to the tent, trying to set it up. (Emphasis on trying.) In the meantime Taehyun was in charge of the campfire which was like a children play for him. Maybe a bit too much because Beomgyu’s bag almost caught on fire, too and with all the food inside of it, that would have been quite a tragedy.
“Hyung, do you need help?” their maknae walked up to their eldest who had two pieces in his hands that didn’t seem to go together. It was the same as last year even though back then the stormy wind caused him the most trouble.
“I’m in control of the situation, don’t worry, Hyuka,” Yeonjun flashed him a confident smile and hushed him to go and play with the other kids who got around a small table with card games in their hands, their laughter echoing loud and happy in the air. Nothing much changed compared to the previous summer.
But no matter how capable Yeonjun was on any other day, he was not in control of the situation and the more time passed, the more impatient he got, running a hand through his hair frustratedly. In the end, it was Soobin who came to his help with his reasonable words and the missing piece of the tent. Just in time because as the Sun was starting to set and the nightlife around them awakened, it was time to prepare their food. In order to get perfect results, Taehyun helped to keep the fire in check while Yeonjun grilled the meat (none of them got surprised when he accidentally dropped a few pieces, they just laughed it off). They almost forgot about the delicious marshmallows and when the redhead showed off his power by roasting the soft dessert with his fingers, Hueningkai also wanted to give it a try but it turned out that the electricity sparkling in his hands couldn’t achieve the same effect. Yeonjun tried to cheer him up by splashing water towards their boasting friend.
As nature got darker and quieter around them, a peaceful mood settled upon them. With their bellies full and laughter still tinting their mouth, they laid down on the emerald green grass, looking at the sky above them, the moon shining brightly.
“Do you think we were chosen on purpose?” Beomgyu asked quietly, flowers blooming where his fingertips touched the soil.
“There must be a reason,” Soobin whispered, firmly believing in these words but before they could have gotten too sentimental (or a headache due to the what ifs), Taehyun insisted that there was no camping without horror stories in the dark and even though it earned a groan from Hueningkai, they all listened to his story attentively even if it made them cuddle in fear in the tent later.
Despite their powers, they were still carefree youngsters enjoying summer nights like this, laughing until their voice got hoarse. Little did they know that fate indeed had great plans for them. It merely wasn’t their time yet.

This is a collab with @peachy-jjh for @kpopmoodboardnet‘s summer event :)
Holiday/vacation with Jungkook by @peachy-jjh
Jungkook x reader
genre: slice of life, fluff
wordcount: 956
“What are we doing today?” your boyfriend of five years asked, picking at the remaining bits of his breakfast. You looked over the catalogue that was provided when you arrived at the hotel, marvelling over how much there was to do in Bali. It was your five year anniversary and it conveniently was during summer so Jungkook had surprised you with a two week vacation to Bali, Indonesia.
“Hmm, what about the Nusa Dua Beach?” you asked, looking up at him to gauge his reaction. He scrunched his nose and shook his head and you almost laughed at how cute he looked. “Not in the mood to swim today?”
“I’m not in the mood to get sand all over me,” he said, while sipping on his orange juice. You nodded in agreement and continued to scan the catalogue. Your eyes lit up when you saw the perfect place and you knew your boyfriend would agree. He looked at you and put his glass down. “What?”
“Let’s go to the bird park.” It took him a second to process your words, but his eyes immediately lit up and he nodded vigorously. “We can see the flamingos! I heard they roam freely in the park, you can even pet them and take pictures with them.” At your words, his excitement grew and he quickly gulped down the rest of his juice before standing.
“Well what are we waiting for? Hurry up and get ready,” he exclaimed, already walking over to his suitcase to pick out a suitable outfit for the day. You smiled at his excitement before putting the catalogue down on the bed and going to your suitcase. After a minute of rustling, you heard your boyfriend speak. “Baby, what do you think about this shirt?” You turned to him to see that he was holding a blue, tropical shirt. You laughed and nodded, agreeing with his styling choice. He smiled before beginning to change, not bothered by the fact that you were watching him. You, however, quickly turned away, amazed at the fact that after five years, he still made you blush. You ignored how hot your face felt and began changing as well. When you turned, he was facing the mirror, slowly putting sunscreen on his face. He caught your gaze through the mirror and smiled. “Come here,” he said softly. You walked over and he turned to face you. “Close your eyes.” You did, expecting a kiss and were slightly disappointed when you felt his hands on your cheeks and forehead, applying sunscreen to your skin. He laughed when you slightly pouted as he made sure to cover your whole face. “Wouldn’t want you getting sunburnt.” When he finished, you opened your eyes in time to see him leaning in to kiss you. You smiled into the kiss, bringing your hand to cup his cheek.
“I love you,” you said quietly, after you pulled away. He giggled and repeated your words. “Now, let’s go see some birds.”
Finding your way to the park took about half an hour, but you didn’t mind it much because you were spending time with your favorite person. Once you reached the park, Jungkook immediately pulled you to the area where you were allowed to feed the pelicans. You were surprised that he knew what attractions the park offered but when you were about to ask, he explained that he had read the catalogue beforehand on the plane and had wanted to visit the park since you arrived at Bali. After feeding the pelicans, you walked around looking for the next attraction. While walking, you walked past many flamingos and pet them as often as you could. At one point, Jungkook excitedly took a picture of you with one and asked you to do the same. You took every opportunity you had to take a photo of him. You wanted to remember every second of it.
“Y/N, look at that bird! Isn’t that amazing?” he exclaimed, pointing at the eagle as it demonstrated it’s hunting skills. You were too busy looking at him though, taking in every detail of his face. The mole on his nose that you loved to kiss, his teeth and adorable smile, his big, beautiful eyes. He was breathtaking, and you felt so lucky to call him yours.
“Yeah, absolutely amazing,” you murmured.
The rest of the day passed rather quickly. You were tired and happy to be back in the hotel. As you got ready for bed, he was scrolling through the camera roll on your phone, looking at the photos you had taken that day. When you joined him, he shifted so you could lay on his chest and see the photos with him.
“That’s my favorite one,” you said, pointing at the screen. It was a picture of Jungkook with several kinds of parrots on his arms as well as a macaw parrot on his head. He was smiling and he had his eyes closed. The sheer happiness on his face was enough to make you smile. “Put it as my wallpaper for me, please.” He obeyed, quickly changing your wallpaper before he continued to scroll.
“This one is my favorite,” he said, tilting the phone so you could see clearly. It was a selfie he had taken, in which he had his free arm around you and you were kissing his cheek. You turned your head, kissing his cheek again before bringing your hand up to turned him to face you, kissing him properly. He dropped your phone on the bed, adjusting himself as he continued to kiss you. “I love you so much,” he mumbles into your mouth. You smiled into the kiss, already excited about what tomorrow would bring. (w.c. 956)

You’re sitting on a deck chair lathered up to your hairline in 50 spf sun cream and trying your hardest not to stare, or at least not get caught staring. There’s a group of guys on the opposite side of the pool and they’re all loud and rambunctious and, if you’re being honest, incredibly cute.
They keep pushing each other into the water onto the floats they brought with them and laughing loudly when they inevitably flip over or slide off the side. You were annoyed at first because it’s 10 am and you thought no one would be down here yet because the public pool near your house is normally relatively empty and quiet on a Thursday morning. So you came down to warm yourself in the mid morning sun and read a little bit. The splashing and laughter was just distracting at first but now you keep finding yourself pushing down a small grin while you try to read and peak over the top of your paperback without seeming too obvious.
After a while you give up and decide to dip your legs into the pool to cool off a little bit. As you sit down you notice two of the boys are having what seems to be a heated conversation quietly at the side of the pool. One of them glances in your direction and you quickly act like you're watching the ripples your feet make in the water. After a minute you hear a yelp and a splash and glance up to see one of the boys who were arguing earlier smile and wave in your direction. You can’t help but glance back to be sure it’s not directed at someone else and shyly send a small wave back when that doesn’t seem to be the case.
He turns back to the rest of his group, the smile still in place and you nearly have a heart attack as someone emerges from under the water to your right. You let out an undignified yelp and almost fall over and while you try to calm your heartbeat the person who frightened you immediately begins apologizing profusely. You glance over to see the boys all snickering together by the cabana they’re occupying. You can feel your ears turning red as you finally glance over to assure the person it’s okay and notice it’s one the boys from before causing you to stop short.
“I’m sorry really I didn’t mean to scare you,” he says holding out his hand toward you. You except the gesture and shake his hand weakly. His fingers feel pruney from the water but are somehow still warm without being too hot in the summer heat.
“It’s fine.” you assure him letting go of his hand quickly once it seems, you realize, you’ve been holding it too long.
“I’m Moonbin and I actually was wondering if you’d like to join me and my friends,” he smiles brightly and adds “We’re going to get ice cream from the place down the street.” You think it over as you glance at him. He’s sweet looking and his eyes are too hopeful for you to decide on anything but a nod yes. His smile grows wider and he hoists himself out of the water and offers you a hand to help you up.
He doesn’t let go as he walks you over and begins introducing you to his friends.
