I GOT LAZY ON THIS PART. SOBS

This scene is hauntingly scary but, there are few details that I love about it:

No thoughts, just this. Perhaps some Obito-Seeing-Ghosts? Codependent ObiRin where Rin constantly keeps asking Kakashi updates and talking to where she thinks Ghost!Kakashi is and sometimes Obito runs interference but he's not always there so she just starts talking to 'nothing' constantly--Kakashi sometimes there, sometimes not. Perhaps Sakumo has adopted these children too!!--and when anyone questions either of their mental states, they just give the Insane Grin™️and vividly remind the others why they both got the highest kill counts of the entire Village.

Perhaps Rin goes a step farther and does some Orochimaru Shit™️ to make her see ghosts too. Idk🤷🤷

Obito getting the start of being a little fucked in the head by digging out his childhood friend out from beneath a boulder like a dog bringing home its favorite toy even though it’s shredded to shit and damaged, refusing to give it up. Oh okay yeah I’m normal about that thanks for asking. That is so haunting him in his nightmares for years to come. That’s gotta be gruesome. God I need to know what Minato said when he saw Obito and Rin with au!Kakashi’s mangled body.

They are so. Like really messed up but so fucking sweet too. 

“We, yes we have a ghost dad.” (Sakumo) I wonder how that convo went down between Rin and Obito.

OUAGHHH just Rin who talks to ‘herself’ about everything and nothing whenever and wherever because it must be boring to be a ghost and Kakashi should get to have someone who knows he’s there and will converse with him even if it’s one-sided.

Rin who does some fucked up shit to see Kakashi and Sakumo both - oh that “I’m always watching” line. Trust. She is. Her loved ones are not getting away from her. Not even in death. Her and Obito have that in common. Nohara “I will kill myself if you leave me” Rin and her partner Uchiha “death won’t be enough to keep us apart” Obito. 

Is Rin a little bit maybe evil? That depends on who’s asking. Like yeah maybe she is someone's personal monster but she’s doing it for a good cause! Promise! All that human experimentation was for a reason. The road to hell is paved with good intentions or something like that. Then again I feel like Rin - in this AU at least - is very grey and would not care so long as she got what she desired out of it. RIP to all those Iwa and Kiri POWs in her lab. I hope you guys have ninja geneva convention soon or something.

They would be absolute demons in T&I. Do they pass the psych exam? Well. Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves…

Somehow the most sane alive person on that team is Minato and Minato is Minato. 

C!Kakashi stumbling into AU nonsense like ???? Meanwhile Rin and Obito are losing it bc now there’s two Kakashi’s. They’re trying so fucking hard to be normal around Kakashi. Acting as much as they can to their old selves that c!Kakashi is the most familiar with and everyone else in the village is staring at them all weird while in public bc they’re being so normal it’s suspicious. Who is that wearing our resident freaks skins? Why does it look like they have the light back in their eyes again? Who are you????

C!Kakashi is aware of how many people are doing double takes but he thinks they’re looking at him - which, largely, they are. But he misses how their eyes linger and scrutinize Obito and Rin. Maybe he does see it but assumes that they’re just looking at them weird bc c!Kakashi is there and they’re trying to understand the dynamic again.  

Wait hold on. C!Kakashi hearing rumours about AU Rin and Obito’s reputations and assumes it's some bs bc no way Obito and Rin are anything like the rumours say. Yeah, sure, maybe Obito gets spacey and stares off into nothing sometimes but that’s just how shinobi who have worked in the field for a long time are! And so what if Rin has an underground secret lab she doesn’t let anyone into? She’s smart. Minato wouldn’t let her have it if it wasn’t in good faith!

He is avidly rejecting the idea of obrn being Strange on every level. They are so normal. What is this village on? 

It’s one of those ‘your dog is nice but only to you’ type things where the owner - or in this case c!Kakashi, doesn’t see how menacing said dog is. He’s biased. Very biased. And really only gets obrn when they’re on their best behavior.

Obrn want to eat c!Kakashi. Not like. Literally. But in that poetic deranged way of wanting to consume someone so wholly - wanting to crawl behind their ribs and live there. Ykwim?

Can’t tell if I want to see c!Kakashi be hosted in the AU by obrn who live tgthr or by Minato and his family. He only intends on staying until they can get him his own apartment and then he can live on his own. Obito and Rin would be so Normal about seeing Kakashi in their home all unguarded and soft. Like, think that one Oh-no-its-bird post about obrn wanting to keep Kakashi as their little wife.
