Kakashi swallows, and his eyes dart back and forth, trying to see if anyone is watching him. Watching them. "Just-- oh golly, did Rin really-- Obito, that's your wife." "She knew how to have a good time," Obito states. "What, do you think you wouldn't have lived up to our expectations? Because let me tell you, mine were low. I have no illusions about your experience." Kakashi makes another choking sound. "I have to get out of here," he says, kind of dazed. "Obito--" "Ah-- right, okay." He puts a hand on Kakashi's elbow like he means to lead him out. Kakashi shuts his eyes for a moment, and suddenly it's like nothing ever changed. Like he's just sitting in his office minutes after a breakthrough on a murder case and struggling to stop watching every gruesome, imagined detail run through his head on loop. Like Obito has come in and found him staring off into space and brought him back with a hand on his shoulder, and he can breathe again. And this looks-- this must look like something it isn't, and Kakashi knows this; thinks it over and discards the thought all in the same breath, because all those times he didn't quite want to leave Rin and Obito at the proper time for a man to leave the house of a married couple, all those times were mutual, they both wanted him to stay longer too, and Kakashi-- Kakashi is just plain tired of worrying about what things look like to other people. He gives in, and orients according to the hand on his elbow, and lets Obito lead him out to the waiting car.
