i dont think i realized how much the kingkiller chronicle is about economics and money until this reread. rothfuss is providing a scathing critique of social class, abuse of power, the frivolous use of money, the trap of poverty, the price of education to try and rise to a different status.... rothfuss is far from being subtle and yet i had not really processed how much kvothes (and kotes) story is about fucked up economics and abuse of political power. its almost didactic. this definitely influenced me and it is interesting to read this as an adult and realize in just how many ways

at the part of wise mans fear where i want to skip about 100 pages lol

kvothe experiences so many traumatic events throughout name of the wind and wise mans fear and yet the scene i struggle most to read is when he gets kicked out of the archives
