The juban, of course, is my ro juban.

I was debating whether to use summer komono or regular ones. I went with the unlined nagoya obi, which is still light enough for summer but not in usumono territory, and regular obijime + obiage. Now, I think maybe this obi was a little too pale yellow. Not 'pale.' Not saturated, intense enough? I have a much more intensely primary yellow obi with hints of gold and silver in it. Maybe I should try that.

The obiage is a vintage rich pink chirimen, very formal (isn't chirimen formal by default? I think so) but I wanted visual texture on camera. The obijime is an odd one. I have another that is identical but in pale blue and white. I thought the weave mimicked the tiny yellow clusters of flowers well, plus it carried over the saturated green and oranges, with a hint of white to make it stand out from the obi.

The shoes were a harder decision but I went with green/paulownia to pull the eye down from the obijime.

To match the shoes, I used the pale wood + asagao fan, featuring a bright blue morning glory on a white background. This also pulls in the hint of white in the obijime and the blue of the flowers on the komon.

I thought about it, right? Even when I am the only one appreciating these details.

There was a lot of thought put into coordinating this one.

Patterns + textures repeat: hitoe wool with visible slubs + Nagoya obi with similar texture; the tiny 'flower' pattern of the obijime and the tiny flowers in the komon.

Similar colours repeating: yellow obi + yellow flowers; pink obiage + same pink tiny details in the komon; green in the leaves, in the obijime, in the velvet hanao; the wood of geta + wooden fan; the blue asagao on the fan + blue in the komon. White collar, white details on the obijime. Green obijime, green hanao. Both to draw the eye down, not too visually 'top-heavy.'

Weight repeating: unlined komon, unlined Nagoya obi, summer-weight juban, summer geta; solid komon (not usumono), solid Nagoya obi, solid obijime + obiage.

I have a more bold yellow Nagoya obi with fine gold and silver threads and debated using that one. I was also thinking of black lacquered geta with bright blue hanao that would also match this, which would visually diminish the emphasis on the entire outfit, leaving attention at the shoulders and obi. A kimono like this has so many 'potential' matches.
