Last week I got a bit more experimental in the kitchen and wanted to share:
I made 2 lbs of gravlax and hummus as a meal prep on on the weekend. I berries about to go bad so I decided id make like a bear dinner. However, i ended up using the salmon for gravlax and decided to make a dutch baby instead since that came up when I was researching how to make a compote for the salmon in bear dinner.
As for the gravlax I was having it with just scallion cream cheese but I got tired of that and tried my hand ay making hollandaise sauce. It only uses the yolks so I panicked and realized I had left the egg whites out all day and decided to make a pavlova.
I came across curry pies while looking up recipes and decided to make one. I had flour that was about to go bad (it was stone milled in Sleepy Hollow so it still had the germ/endosperm) Moreover I had used up all of my sugar in the pavlova so I needed a savory option. My dumbass made too much hot water crust but luckuly i had enough curry filing to make two pies. I decided to eat them asap because I didnt want the crust to get hard and stale… Unfortunately, i forgot it was Lent though ðŸ˜
I have never made any of these things before! If anyone has ideas for what to do with a giant tub of aquafaba i am all ears as I have a bunch left over from the hummus
