Until the terrace scene, and perhaps even beyond, Khushi’s fiancé was always some random paying guest named Shyam to Arnav. I’d go as far as to say that Arnav didn’t realise that her fiancé Shyam and his Jija Shyam were the same person until Shyam’s first reveal post kidnap. Because if Arnav had ever made that connection, he’d have asked Khushi about it. That’s the kind of huge clue that would prompt him to question her guilt on all levels. There’s already a part of him, during contract marriage, that wants desperately to believe that she’s innocent - that part wouldn’t have let that scenario go unexplored.

It would depend mostly on how Khushi acted. If, for example, Khushi’s engagement hadn’t broken prior to Payal and Aakash’s engagement, then there’s a real chance that Arnav would have tried one last time before she was married off. Another farak padta hai day, perhaps, where he challenged Khushi to reveal her true feelings, but tinged with extra desperation because he’d be on the cusp of losing her forever. In the end, I feel it’d come down to whether Khushi was willing to admit (to herself, and to Arnav) that she wanted him more than whoever she was engaged to.

Arnav has always been about Khushi making up her own mind. If she made it clear that she didn’t want him, then he wouldn’t have pushed the issue.

I think Arnav was hurt but I don’t think he’d ever get angry over it or anything. I think he, of all people, understands just how broken his sister is and that Shyam conditioned her to be a certain way.

Arnav has a series of mantles he dons when dealing with the people in his life. He’s ASR, he’s Chhote, he’s Bhai. With each of these roles comes a sense of responsibility and of being a benefactor. He’s Anjali’s Chhote so she’s his responsibility. In his eyes, her continuing to see Shyam would say more about his inability to protect her than any betrayal, imagined or real.

It’s only with Khushi that he gets to be Arnav and consequently, Khushi is his equal in a way no one else is. Which is why he often feels betrayed by her but not by others.
