Apparently today is #NationalTamaleDay, but we got our prep done yesterday because I luckily still get to work (safely, from home) at this time.💻 I am super grateful for that, because I know how many people are now unemployed and everything is awful. All weekend I prepped pork, chile, soaked husks, and made masa. Last night assembled almost 5 dozen tamales for our dinner and to stock our freezer.🍽 Incredibly grateful for the cooking lessons from my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, years of watching and helping (and taste testing) in the kitchen🔪🥣, and the recipes that kept us well-fed throughout the years.😊 Lots of happy memories in this food. Tried out a new recipe and made pineapple tarts for New Year! Reduced the hell out of a bunch of pineapples and tried out my new mooncake stamps and overall a success! Even used some AMAZINGLY DELICOUS Stow Away Preserves for the leftover dough to make some extras. So tasty!
