Fellow tall oxen girl here—didn’t watch Tall Girl, bc on the one hand I was like “maybe this will portray my experience,” but on the other hand I was like “ah yes that’s the model-y Tall Girl I envied in school”, and tbh no Short Guy at my high school had the ova to allow himself to like any girl taller than him, much less admit to it, bc The Boy Must Be Taller Than The Girl. Should I watch Tall Girl to rage appropriately, in your opinion, or skip it?
i have not watched it. i got a real cringe vibe because literally her tall girl problems are not problems at least in the trailer. like, she’s tall, still thin and good looking and blonde with perfect skin. and everything is shot to look like things are smaller like, being 6′1 is hard but like you could still enter doors and sit at desks
and fair, no high school boy dated a girl taller than them. all the tall boys had girlfriends under 5′2.
i was bullied for being tall but also big. so like the names like cave woman, gorilla girl, green giant, man, freak, bigfoot were constant.
and yeah, i played basketball but even on basketball team i was bullied for being too tall. like i would block a shot and girls would mock me from the other team and even my team mates. meanwhile the boys team had guys my height and they were fine.
