Hmm, yeah, I think it’s partially for that reason - I mean, for sure, this is why Hanamiya and Hara are always involved in things cause they’re kinda friends with everyone. But it’s also a personality issue. A character that doesn’t speak much is tricky to write for in an interesting and canon way, especially when the main traits given to him by the mangaka are being sadistic (which really makes him stand out from the rest of the team… not), and otherwise not expressing much emotion to begin with. And you can argue that that’s why he doesn’t get shipped (platonically or otherwise) with the other characters too.
Perhaps, the only/best solution is to encourage a Furuhashi x Matsumoto friendship :D
Hanamiya - no.
This man’s spent so much time with Furu that I really don’t think anything Furu says could possibly creep him out at this point. In fact, part of me wonders whether, when Furuhashi says the most simple, normal thing (and it ends up being creepy because of the dead fish eyes and the general tone of voice), Hanamiya’s in the corner, grinning, like “damn, he’s good.”
Imayoshi - maybe
See, I don’t think Imayoshi's someone who ever gets creeped out by people, and it’s not like he spends much time with Furuhashi to begin with. If you’re not close with Furu, you can’t really tell the difference between his emotions which, again, can make something very tame that he says come across very morose. And that’s what can make Imayoshi a little, not creeped out, but a little “Yo. Hang on a minute. The conversation was on dogs??”
Furuhashi - it’s complicated
He doesn’t creep himself out, but he’s aware that he tends to creep others out. Part of him wishes that his face, you know, just didn’t look like that - and he’s someone who’s practiced smiling in the mirror in hopes that he’d learn how to ‘fix’ himself and get along with people. But, luckily for him, his teammates don’t care how he smiles or how creepily he may come off; they love him all the same :')
