more cool lore tidbits: zed comic edition
All of these are straight from the Q+A discussion boards, all odin (main zed, shen, jhin author until 2022)
And yeah, I certainly want to show that Zed and Kayn's relationship is deeper and more complex than "This kid might be useful to me."
the previous version of the color text (jhin's "the man with the steel cane") couldn't pass our rating's limits
[About the shadow order's tattoos] It's probably not good for your mind, your soul, and your body. I mean-- the Yanlei all kinda have unhealthy looking skin.
shen general headcanons pls
Alright, one set of general Shen headcanons coming right up!
Shen deeply cares for his students. He would do anything to keep them safe - but he would NEVER admit to it. He always keeps his cool and hides his real feelings, even when it’s around the people he loves the most.
His feelings about Zed are mixed. Over the years, he feels like his anger has died down, yes he can’t really let go of his hate either. Deep, deep down he wishes their relationship could go back to what it once was - but he also knows it’s impossible. He blames himself for everything that’s happened, and while he knows it wasn’t his fault, he can’t stop feeling like he could have prevented it.
He shoulders more than he should - and he insists on shouldering it alone. He feels like it’s his, and his duty only to keep the balance in Ionia, keep the Kinkou Order running, and protect everyone. He won’t ever show he needs help, for he feels like there is no one appropriate to help him carry these burdens.
Having trained his many students over the years, outside of stealth missions, Shen rarely gets a moment of peace and quiet, without his trainees as a background noise. As a result, when he does get a moment like that, the quiet seems nearly alien to him - and he’s always happy to be reunited with his students. Even though he won’t show it.
Shen fears that without his close ones to anchor him to the mortal world he would eventually end up getting lost in the spirit realm, yet at the same time he worries too close bonds within the mortal realm could disrupt his ability to travel the spirit world. He always balances his relationships with other people around those fears.
3 days to finally finish this guy!
It was worth all the love I put into finishing him.

Akali profile image
Probably an unpopular opinion that’s affected by the fact I love the bad guys, but to be honest, I’d much prefer Akali to end up as more of a villain for the next chapter of her story, than return to the Kinkou. I wouldn't be into her lore as much if they had her rejoin at some point under the excuse of “all of her current story line was just a youngster going through a youngster phase.” I don't think I like to see her in that way.
