I get it, everyone loves Keith. He’s the main character in a majority of the storylines. He’s broody, mysterious, pretty, etc. etc. But I wanna read about everyone falling in love with the heart of Voltron, Lance. People already ship him with everyone. I mean, he’s good looking, suave, personable, and 100% oblivious

Just imagine they’re back on earth and

He’s the only one Kinkade will really talk to. Of course they start off only talking about sniping and tech and stuff, but eventually they start getting closer and talking about their interests before the war.

Lance is now one of the few who are allowed to call Kinkade by his first name. He’ll actively look for and get right up next to Ryan at all times. One time they even got in trouble for laughing too much during a stealth mission.

Kinkade is 100% smitten

He thinks this boy is so smart and sweet and talented 

It seems like lance is the only one who can get Ryan to let loose and open up.

Now I bet you that boy is smooth

He’s flirty

Knows the best place to get flowers in a post war wasteland

Of course lance is like “wow thanks for the friendship flowers! :)”

Of course this attracts the attention of one (1) James Griffin

Now, James knew Lance before the war. He’s the first to admit that while he never had a full fight with lance, he wasn’t exactly the nicest.

Wasn’t anything much but just sneers every time lance talked to him

In reality he was just trying the bully the gay feelings he had for post puberty peanut boy out

In other words, he was crushing hard on lance before the war and didn’t know how to get close to him

Now lance is back and looking even more like a Snack™

So he starts pulling all his moves now that he’s more Emotionally Mature

Starts inviting him to lunch all the time

Uses his sources to find out where lance hangs out so he can “coincidentally” bump into him

Invites him to the secret garrison parties

Let’s him tour the MFE planes etc etc.

Turns out Lance is even cuter in person and James is absolutely swooning

His roommate is tired of hearing about his crush

He tries to ask out Lance on a proper date one day and lance just Does Not get the message

And of course Keith happens to be nearby when he asks

Keith is a little,,, Emotionally Constipated™ when it comes to romantic feelings

His first love was a boy back at the garrison named Taylor but he never got the courage to talk to him

He wasn’t the best looking but he was cute and kind

When Shiro kept hearing about this “Taylor” kid he assumed that Keith had made a friend and suggested that Keith invites him over sometime 

“I cant just do that Shiro!1!” 

turns out they had only shared one class together and rarely spoke to each other

Once, Taylor complimented him and he was pretty sure that was when he peaked

But then Keith dropped out and assumed he would never see him again

Imagine his surprise when he realizes that the reason why he didn’t know Lance at first was because he thought Lance was named Taylor at the garrison (”They call me the Tailor because of how I thread the needle”)

Also because puberty hit “Taylor” like a truck and wow was he not expecting that

Slowly but surely over their adventure his massive crush is solidified

Now he didnt want to or even expect to fall in love with Lance again yet here they are

But when they get back to Earth he realizes that Lance is popular with some good looking guys, even one who decked him at some point

They seem to be hanging out a lot

Keith is immediately jealous and tries to keep his man, even if Lance isn’t quite his man

100% brings up their bonding moment all the time

Suddenly they’re all on their A game

Trying to one up each other

The McClain siblings have all chosen sides and try to help their selected fighter

They’re all jealous of each other even though sweet lance is just trying to make sure everyone is friends and good allies

But theyre trying to duke it out without lance noticing

Now I said Lance is oblivious but he aint dumb 

He’s hella smart, specially with people. He just kinda assumes no one would like him in that way

But hes starting to notice something is fishy with everyone 

“Why is Keith always glaring at James? I thought they were over that.”

“Huh Ryan has been more affectionate lately how sweet.”

“Every time I’m out with keith or ryan it seems like james just happens to be there... That’s weird, right?”

He sees the clues but not their value

Eventually they all just confess their love one after another and he gets it

But Lance has to choose. He may have 2 hands but that boy has one heart 

(If you poly ship him thats cool too I just Live For Drama) 

Now mama may have not raised a quitter but she did raise a fool

Specifically a fool who cannot make decisions
