There had been an overwhelming wave of-- honestly, there was no word to use to describe it except-
It had come quickly, creeping up along the ground to swallow buildings and people whole. Nejire had watched with muted horror as the people she cared about vanished before her as it moved ever closer to her perch atop a rooftop, a lone vigil in a desperate stand to keep some of the city citizens safe. Stay here, that was what Ryukyu had yelled at her before vanishing. Stay here. She had done so. She wished she hadn’t, now.
She didn’t want to see everyone else die before her.
It crawled up the sides of the building, claws and gleaming yellow eyes peaking out to snarl and swipe at those who made the vain attempt to remain-- and she knew she was lost. They were lost. Whatever this strange darkness was made of, it was more than enough to win against the strongest Heroes of the world.
And it swallowed her whole.
She wasn’t in Tokyo anymore. Nejire blinked as she slowly got to her feet, boots scrapping against cobblestones as she stood up. Her hero costume was torn and tattered and yet she was untouched. A few hesitant pokes and prods to her arms and torso didn’t reveal any immediate sore spots.
So then... time to focus on where. There were buildings around her, but much smaller and quainter than the city skylines she knew. Dark sky, cobbled streets... Her head canted curiously to the side as Nejire found herself walking along the winding road.
