My thoughts on the song: What a beautiful, beautiful track! Kimmuseum's voice is ethereal and magical and just such a joy to listen to! 10/10 would recommend this song! 🤩

VOCABULARY:

만들다 make/ create/ produce

Present Tense: 만들어요

Past Tense: 만들었어요

Future Tense: 만들 거예요

미나 지난 주말에서 맛있는 당근 케이크를 만들었어요. Mina made a delicious carrot cake last weekend.

톰이 만드는 케이크는 정말 맛있어요! The cakes Tom makes are so delicious!

다음 주말에 저는 책장을 만들 거예요. I'm going to make a bookcase next weekend.

노래를 만들다 Compose a song (Naver)

책을 만들다 Write a book (Naver)

회사를 만들다 Establish a company (Naver)

샌드위치 만들어 줄게 I will make you some sandwiches (Naver)

비추다 shine/ light up/ illuminate

Present Tense: 비추어요

Past Tense: 비추었어요

Future Tense: 비출 거예요

잦아지다 become frequent/ occur frequently

잦다 + 지다 = 잦아지다

빠져나오다 escape/ get out

빠지다 + 나오다 = 빠져나오다

저는 이 상황이 빠져나오고 싶어요. I want to get out of this situation. I want to escape from this situation.

빠지다 = To fall out/ deflate/ drain/ be deceived – It can also be used to show the speakers displeasure about the state or quality of the words placed before it. Showing that they think the previous thing they were talking about has a deteriorating or dismal quality.

나오다 = Emerge/ step forward/ come forward/ appear/ turn up

슬럼프에서 빠져나오다 Get out of a slump (Naver)

기대다 lean on/ lean against/ depend upon/ count on

Present Tense: 기대요

Past Tense: 기댔어요

Future Tense: 기댈 거예요

Nominal: 기댐

미나는 나무에 몸을 기대고 있었어요. Mina was leaning against a tree.

가득하다 jam-packed with/ full of/ crammed

Present Tense: 가득해요

Past Tense: 가득했어요

Future Tense: 가득할 거예요

Nominal: 가득함

저물다 get dark/ grow dark/ draw to a close/ come to an end

Present Tense: 저물어요

Past Tense: 저물었어요

Future Tense: 저물 거예요

Nominal: 저묾

가을에서 5시 해가 저문을 거예요. The sun will set at 5 o'clock in autumn.

가을은 보통 5시 해가 저문다. In autumn, the sun usually sets at 5 o'clock.

맞이하다 greet/ welcome

Present Tense: 맞이해요

Past Tense: 맞이했어요

Future Tense: 맞이할 거예요

Nominal: 맞이함

우리 묵은해를 보내고 새해를 맞이했어요. We rang out the old year and rang in the new year. (Modified Naver Sentence)

저는 우리 할머니가 웃는 낯으로 맞이했어요. I greeted my grandmother with a smile. (Modified Naver sentence)

GRAMMAR:

어/아지다 Expressing a change of state -become/ get to be/ it is getting more

Formula: If the vowel of the verb stem ends in ㅗ/ㅏ attach 아지다

if it ends in anything else add: 어지다

It can only be used with ADJECTIVES.

Example from the song:

"왜일까 눈에 밟히는 게 많아져" Why is that? It's a lot on my mind.

“괜한 실수들이 잦아져” I've made a lot of useless mistakes.

“설마 하는 마음이 커져서” I hope my heart grows
