We’ve always been addicted to KILL J and her enthralling experimental pop, whose range of sound has been so delightfully unpredictable over the years. She’s given us a barrage of brilliant songs spread over a wide scope, from R&B pop to electronic pop to art pop and more. Her latest release is a song named Addicted, the fourth track unveiled from her next album Superposition. Its minimalist soundscape fuses electronica with pop in a edgy, forward-thinking fashion, with supple coiling vocals and dark stuttering, sparse haunting production. As always, the video for her song is an extension of KILL J’s artistic vision and imaginative creativity. Kill J’s new album will be out on June 14th. 

Critically acclaimed, art pop artist Kill J has been working hard on her visionary debut album, which is anticipated by a new single, ‘Moon Sick’, out now via Nettwerk Records. Following her highly-anticipated new releases - the fiercely political ‘Strange Fruits of The Sea’, the powerful ‘Dead Weight Soldier’, the sugar-sweet ‘Silver Spoon’, and the recently released ‘Addicted’, the new single is the fifth offering from her forthcoming debut album Superposition, released on June 14. Speaking on the track, Kill J explains: “I was inspired by the multiverse theory within quantum mechanics. There as many universes as there are choices, for every choice we make, there is a corresponding world. Somewhere there is a universe, where I´m not an idiot and I am in a perfect relationship.”

We’ve been itching to share this new one from avant-garde Danish artist Kill J for much of the week, so we’re quite grateful that a new lyric video for Silver Spoon has since been released to accompany our long delayed feature. The experimental pop prodigy has always kept us on our toes with her myriad of songs, some of them bold art pop dalliances, some of them dark sultry electro-R&B seductions, but many more somewhere in the grey area in between and beyond. Silver Spoon is the third offering from Kill J’s forthcoming new album Superposition. It sees her taking a more coquettish and light-footed approach on electronic pop, soaked in sweet nectar and punctuated with crisp bobbing percussion. Silver Spoon is mischievous and playful, youthful and candied, with shades of Janet Jackson and a more lithe and spindly Janelle Monae burbling through its pop. The single is available now, here.

Danish experimental pop auteur Kill J has been one of the brightest blips on our talent radar for many a year. We could never predict what she’d give to us next after having experienced the wide array of electronic pop and avant-garde electro R&B she’s given us in the past. Kill J recently signed to Nettwerk Records, and she makes her debut on the label with an ethereal single named Gravity. Its unconventional pop and willowy fluttering vocals, framed in the atmospheric yet minimalist soundscape, leave me wondering if Gravity is what an FKA Twigs and Kate Bush collaboration would sound like. I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in love with Kill J all over again, and I’m overjoyed that Gravity is the first single from her upcoming debut full length. You can be sure I’ll be awaiting more news about the album in the coming weeks.
