Hey, fellow intp here! I've just taken an mbti test giving the answers I would give if I was my ideal kind of person according to my values... and it came out esfj! I'm shook O-o i know they're not actually opposite because the types are best described by their functions, not the I/E, N/S, etc... But what does this say about me? Thanks :)
Hey, how’s it going! Yeah, gotcha, okay.
Well, my interpretation of this is that maybe you just realise that you’re a bit weaker in the understanding and communicating with other people’s feelings, and in keeping yourself together in a linear, more effective way (Fe and Si, respectively). And maybe you don’t recognise the good things about what you do effectively bring to the table as an INTP, like how you can form lots of novel, and outside-the-box connections for ideas, and use the information you have to form reasonably consistent deductions and conclusions about things (Ne and Ti, respectively).
Basically, maybe you just don’t think what you’re good at is important enough to be valued, and you wish you could be better at more ESFJ-like things, because you feel that those skills are better than your own. Maybe. I don’t know you, heh.
But if that were the case, I would say that it’s fine to admire things in other kinds of people that maybe you’re not so great at! It drives us to become better people. If you really respect those Fe & Si things, that’s great! And you should definitely try to find new ways to build those skills up and incorporate them into your personality (that doesn’t have to mean your MBTI personality, btw. That can just be you as an individual.)
But also, I would say that you should try to make a note of why the things that you are good at are also important! Being punctual (Si) and sensitive to other people (Fe) is great, but it’s not the end-all-be-all! Your Ti may make it easier to see things more clearly than people who may be clouded by the opinions of other people. Your Ne allows you to see points of view on situations that may not be common or noticeable to others, but nonetheless are just as important to making decisions.
I hope this helped! Remember that I’m just one person, and what I pull from your question doesn’t have to be right. Ultimately, you’re the best person for the job for understanding yourself!
