 I was looking over the followers list for the Filaments Project on Twitter and not surprisingly, lots of our followers are musicians, songwriters and bands. Some of them are people I actually know, some of them are incredibly famous and some are people I never heard of until I started the project.

This is exciting because I get to hear all kinds of music I otherwise would never have been exposed to.  I want to share this with you, so I’ll be going through the Follow List chronologically from the beginning and play you a song from every follower I can find online!

Our very first follower on @FilamentProject is Jeff Pehrson aka @setjeff, who is a vocalist for Furthur and front man for The Fall Risk. Jeff first came to my attention in the early 90s as half the vocal duo and front of the band Box Set.

This song, Catfish John, was a staple of the Jerry Garcia Band back when I was seeing them play  in the 70s at the Keystone Berkeley. I have to say it was not one of my favorite songs at the time, I prefer a little more tempo. Well, here is the Fall Risk’s version I was lucky enough to hear them debut when they headlined recently at Terrapin Crossroads. Got tempo? Oh yeah. I love this arrangement! Hope you do too!
