Psycotic Pineapple - I Forgot Who I Forgot Who I Was (1980)
Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley in the late 70s/early 80s was a wild place to be. Besides going to class, I’d go to the record stores several times a day (you never know if something new might show up). There were also people like Jonathan Richman, and this band, Psycotic Pineapple, playing on the street. With a gigantic pineapple man (Pyno man) jumping around, they were very hard to forget. They seemed to be some sort of off-shoot from the power pop Rubinoos, though a bit more bratty “new wave”/punk.
