SHE JUST GOT HERE GIRL CHILL OUT

Kestralkit: I prayed to Starclan, so why am I here? Is Starclan really just powerless? Or did you see my life too worthless to keep for a fourth moon? Why should I stay here, where more kits will be condemned to the same fate, where I am powerless to stop the most horrible moments in cats' lives? Is this really Starclan? Are we really the light? Or are we the darkness that follows everyone to their grave? A grave that I am now forced to be a part of, like an insect eating away at a corpse alongside its colony?

Boulderstar was watching some of the kits to give the queens a rest, watching as the nine balls of energetic fluff ran around and played. One kit padded up to him.

“Boulderstar?” The tom kit looked up at his uncle. “Why do you have those claw marks on your face?”

“Well, Beetlekit.” Boulderstar began, looking at his sister’s kit and the curiosity in those eyes. “There was a big dangerous dog near camp long before you kits were born. I was closest and attacked it to try and drive it away.”

“Whoa!” Beetlekit’s eyes light up. “Did you win?”

“Of course he did!” Squeaked Kestralkit as she ran over. “My daddy would never lose to some dog!”

Boulderstar chuckled softly at his only daughter. “Yes. I did successfully chase off the dog. And then Starclan declared me Boulderstar, first leader of our lovely Grottoclan.”

They are born!
