Explain to me how someone wanting to and actively trying to murder your best friend isn't grounds for them being murdered themselves. I mean I wouldn't place the blame on just krillin, but he gets a piece of this blame pie along with trunks for bringing cell back to the past with him, goku for not properly eliminating the red ribbon army, and obviously Vegeta for letting his ego lead him to make a stupid pigheaded decision. Perfect Cell was a group fuck up
OK, here’s why.
Because 1, they didn’t do it. Plain and simple. Had she been acting toward that goal, that’d be one thing. She, however, was not, and even 17 was only doing it so 16′s directive could be filled and they could be free of Gero’s influence. 18, however, found the whole thing sull and was only along for the ride. Even Kami HIMSELF noted that the Androids had yet to do wrong, even the initial fight had been instigated by Vegeta and not themselves.
Again, no one is guilty of being tempted to do something. No one is guilty of almost doing something. One is guilty only upon actually performing, or attempting to perform, the act. And even then, they themselves had not wanted this. They never wanted to be what they were, or be weapons meant to kill that old man’s enemies. They wanted to live life, be normal. They had that stolen from them and were acting out of a desperate longing, a need to be free and try to live life.
I’d also like to add: Cell was not “brought” to the Future by Trunks. Cell ambushed and killed Trunks in an alternate timeline and stole his time machine, which was set for a return trip.
Goku actually DID properly eliminate the Red Ribbon Army. Gero’s survival was incidental, as opposed to Goku “letting him go” in a bit of altered dub dialogue.
Facts is facts, the only one who made their choice entirely for themselves is, in fact, Vegeta. Plain and simple.
