i'm not actually sure if i have an answer, i have stories i like and tropes i roll my eyes at, but there's nothing that i think "oh this has that trope? i'm definitely checking it out." it's usually about execution and then i look at the tropes it has after and go "neat" but don't think about it too much.

i have noticed in a few ships of mine (claudeleth, shakarian) there's a woman in a leader role who helps a guy figure out who he wants to be or how to achieve his goals, whether she helps him intentionally or just by being his leader. then she's gone (dead) for a while, and when she comes back, he helps her pick her life as both a thank-you to how she helped him, but also they grow closer as a result.

there is a subset of female character that i like: angry, depressed and/or bitter women on a mission that will kill them (aloy from hzd, breq from imperial radch, melinoe from hades 2, mizu from blue eye samurai, lysithea from fe3h, helena from orphan black). but there are tons of other female characters like that that don't interest me at all lol so it really does come down to execution and just if i vibe with them.

apologies again for being so dead on here !! finding motivation has been really tough,, but now I’m going to get a GED so it leaves me with more rest and more opportunities to draw whenever I want :)) with that being said, I’d like to bring to the table two Garrus drawings I pulled out EASILY. I want to imagine I’ve finally gotten to a skill level where he’s not miserable to draw and not it being sleep deprived magic.

anyways, I miss interacting with you guys :33 and I’m not even gonna sit here and lie, I’ve been missing sharing Garrus/Mass Effect art and having my moot @kesla see it cause their interactions with my art make me geek out so hard /gen 👉👈

which of your fanfics or og stories did you most enjoy writing and why?

Heh, the first bit made me smile! It's one of those phrases that just got stuck in my head, so I'm glad it's made its way on to other people.

I think I most enjoyed writing Measurements because it was the thing that really helped me find joy in writing again. I'd previously tried to make it as a romance author and in trying to stay palatable and marketable, I stopped finding joy in writing. I took a break for a year or two (in which I also stopped trying to do the romance author thing because it just made me feel sad and empty) and eventually started writing some fluffy, self-indulgent stuff, but Measurements was the first long-form work that really made me feel like I was back. Was totally not expecting anyone to ever read it besides maybe one or two friends, but people did read it and love it, and I was fortunate enough to find a supportive community through it. If I could go back in time and tell 2021 Bree that not only would people read that fic, but they'd have the support of the cool writer friends they'd alwasy dreamed of when writing it, 2021 Bree would have never believed me.

seriously guys the scene plays in my head at least once a week I’m so chronically ill over it I love it so much
