Two humans become pokemon atop a steep snowy mountain. They only remember their names but have already started to adapt to their habitat. Hopefully, these two buds can establish a home before the cold(er) seasons...
Pokémon of the Day #0037
Name: Vulpix
Pronunciation: Vuhl-picks
Etymology: Vulpes (Latin for fox) + Six. Also possibly Vulcan, the Roman god of fire.
Type: Fire
Ice (Alolan Forme)
Design Origins:
Vulpix is based on a fox, most likely the kitsune from Japanese folklore. The kitsune is a multi-tailed fox said to have an extended lifespan and possess supernatural powers.
Alolan Vulpix swaps out the generic fox elements of Vulpix for an arctic fox. Alolan Vulpix also has a local Alolan name “Keokeo” which comes from the Hawaiian word for white “ke’oke’o”
Most Interesting Pokédex Entry:
“In its belly burns a fire, which Vulpix spits out in the form of fireballs. When young, this Pokémon has but one white tail. As the Pokémon matures, this single tail splits into six.” - Legends Arceus
“It exhales air colder than -58 degrees Fahrenheit. Elderly people in Alola call this Pokémon by an older name—Keokeo” - Sun (Alolan Forme)

Mikon ( ミコン )
Small-Fox Pok'emon Type: Water
Kanto MissingNo. 081b Average Length: TBD
Johto MissingNo. 166b Average Weight: TBD
-Now investigating this newly discovered Pok'emon.
A Pok'emon reportdely looking much like Mikon (referred to in Alola as “Trifox”) was reportedly sighted (but never confirmed) in the regions of Kanto and Johto decades ago. Mikon as we know it seems to be the result of breeding Keokeo (the regional Ice variant of Vulpix in Alola) with the Fire type Vulpix found in the wider world. This Small-Fox seems to evolve into Vulpix or Keokeo depending on the weather conditions where it is raised.

Thank you so much! Here have a flower of mine!! :3 ((so cute ;w; @weeklyvulpix ))
@keo--keo... Another lost child.
He wanted to turn this child away. He wanted to go on with his life without a child, much less a lost one, at his side. However, that look in their eye shattered his heart. No matter how malicious his onstage persona was or how frightening his strength could be, he couldn’t help himself.
This was a child. He was a fully-evolved Pokemon. Keahi, no matter what, must protect them.
With the Vulpix still in his giant arms and himself trampling flowers underfoot, Keahi looked down at them. It seemed as though he could only look for os long, however, as Keahi soon opted to tilt his head back up as he spat.
“Think nothin’ of it, SQUIRT! Only reason I saved ya is because I needed some geeks to practice my REAL strength on! Don’t think I care about ya or anythin’-- I’m as NASTY as they come!”
Except his hold was as gentle as possible and his movements were as smooth, calculated, and ginger as they could be. Everything he had done from the moment he met them seemed to be to not just protect them, but also to accommodate them.
Was Keahi aware of this? Was it a subconscious effort? Keahi could never know.
Brighter smiles #mykeokeo #keokeo
