The Kellogg’s strike is over, after three months of striking they’ve won everything they asked for! The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers Union (BCTGM) which represents them has just announced that their membership has voted to accept the agreement they negotiated.
Highlights of the new five-year collective bargaining agreement: • No take aways; No concessions. They didn’t lose anything they already had, and they got everything they wanted. • No permanent two-tier system. In other words, there’s no bullshit divisive “legacy employees get treated better than people we just hired” nonsense. Everybody’s got the same rights, everybody’s on the same pay scale. • A clear path to regular full-time employment • Plant closing moratorium: No plant shut downs through October 2026 • A significant increase in the pension multiplier • Maintenance of cost of living raises.
