// East Malaysians - let me see you! // Tag a #Sarawakian/#Sabahan. - If you’ve met a girl from Borneo, chances are she’s resilient, diligent & adaptable. - I’ve not met a Sarawakian/Sabahan that doesn’t work hard or isn’t approachable. - Mum’s a #Kelabit from a small village called Long Lellang in #Sarawak, & she used to tell us stories about how they had to walk for days & cross crocodile-infested rivers just to get to school. - Life was tough but they were tougher. - Growing up, I took for granted the fact that I was brought up by a #Superwoman who was always the first to wake up & the last to go to bed. - Our humble home was spotless (mum’s a clean freak) & today, I’m still amazed at how she simultaneously managed to: 1. Prepare breakfast & our snacks to-go, 2. Drive my sisters & I to school 3. Do the laundry, clean the house, prepare lunch, then 4. Pick us up from school, feed us, clean up, 5. The send us to tuition classes, 6. Prepare dinner 7. Pick us up again, clean up, 8. Help us with our homework, 9. Get us to bed, & above all, 10. Stretch the little $ dad had to ensure we had well-balanced meals every day. - That wasn’t all. She was a Pastor’s wife, a mentor, community teacher (to the less fortunate kids around the area) & true prayer warrior with a quiet & gentle spirit. - While I was raised to hustle like a man because I was told never to depend on one, I was also taught that just like in a game of chess; the #Queen protects the King. - So gentlemen, choose your lady wisely. She represents you. - To the #Superbabes out there that fight in silence, I want you to know that you’re appreciated. - Love you. - #HannahTan - In this shot: The #Superbabe that makes all East Malaysians so proud, @jasmine_suraya (at Bvlgari) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqhxb0BgsNW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=18xceu5wd46qg
