A research scientist and fiercely poetic lyricist raised in San Lorenzo, Ibarra raps in English alongside the Filipino languages of Tagalog and Bisaya. Her Tiny Desk Contest-winning track, โBakunawa,โ was inspired by the dragon-like serpent of Philippine mythology.

Been practicing Badlit or Suwat Binisaya lately. A cousin to Baybayin, Badlit was used to write in Bisaya languages.ย
Unlike scripts by Hanunรณ'o and Mangyan, Badlit and Baybayin are no longer used. But most Philippine scripts are related to those by our Southeast Asian neighbors - like Khmer (Cambodia), Jawi (Brunei & Malaysia), and Lao (Laos).
