“Joyce and Spencer-Smith work the Cinema”
This photo (possibly taken by A. Keith Jack) depicts members of the Ross Sea party of the 1914-1917 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Spencer-Smith did not survive the expedition, dying on the Ross Ice Shelf on March 9, 1916.
Jack was succeeded by Don Webb, himself about to retire.
