Litany by Keep Us From Litany track is dedicated to Frank Herbert’s Dune. Dune is not only the masterpiece of science fiction, it is a deeply philosophical book filled with thoughts on self-consciousness, multivariance of future, inner struggles between predetermination and possibility to change the course of events directed. The title Litany refers to Litany Against Fear. This is the self-suggestion formula, a form of prayer, which helps the protagonist to bring himself up into a state of internal balance and concentration. Full text of Litany Against Fear is given in the pre-chorus and chorus of the track almost literally. The real painting (canvas, oil) by Dasha Gordeeva serves as the single’s cover. The painting depicts the sundown over the Shield Wall on Arrakis. Paul Atreides watched this sunset from the desert where he sheltered from Harkonnen soldiers with his mother after the treacherous crash of House Atreides and his father Duke Leto death. That night Paul first revealed his new abilities to see multiple futures. So Litany is dedicated to this moment of enlightenment and self-awareness in meta-universe.
