have you heard of curry barkers new film?? it's a take on ghost hunting story, apparently it's already filmed? idk but i'm tuning in to anything he makes from now on; the 'careful what you wish for' is such a known story idea but he was able to make it fresh and exciting. i just love his mind! also a youtuber i watch did a breakdown of obsession and apparently since curry barker/that guy who did backrooms were comedy sketches on youtube, that comedy and horror both rely on the same thing to payoff (setup, tension, idk etc) and that's why it works!)
omg no i haven’t! not the specifics at least, i think i knew he was already working on something else. he’s definitely caught my attention and i wanna keep an eye on everything he releases.
about that last part; that’s so true! it’s all about building tension and the release- just the type of release is different. i just watch something that said writers and musicians are also super similar and wanna do each others jobs lol, because it’s all about rhythm, tension, and patterns! it’s so interesting because they’re such different outputs but the process is generally similar.
