Peanut Butter Cups: Prologue
This little series spiraled off a head cannon of ours. Kaia and I will be writing two different parts of the same story. We used our favorite names to replace things like (y/n) and such. It keeps the writing tidy and easy to follow, feel free to replace the names with youâre own. Kaia writes the Levi side, and I write the Erwin side. There are some inconsistencies in the writing, as does happen when two different people try to write the same story. Try to ignore the differences in dialogue and such, the story line is essentially the same. Â
This is also what Kaia and I call a âUAâ (Universe Alteration.) Essentially it is in the same universe, but with some alterations like computers, chocolate, and other such things.Â
Peanut butter cups: Prologue
The only sounds that filled the office were the clack of computer keys, the scratch of pencil on paper, and the occasional whisper about what should be written next. Collista and Kaia had made themselves a nest of sorts out of couch cushions and extra blankets. It was strange for them to be so quiet, and it didnât take long for Levi, and Erwin to notice their silence.
âYou two have been unnaturally quiet. Is something wrong?â Erwin asked.
âNope.â The girls answer simultaneously.
Levi looked up from his paperwork and squinted at the girls, âYou two never have paper work, and youâre both out of sketch paper. What are you doing?â
âWriting.â Kaia answered.
âWhat do you two have to write about?â levi questioned.
âNothing of your concern.â Collista answered.
âYou only say that when youâre hiding something.â Erwin declared, âWhat are you writing?â
âThatâs not an answer.â
âCollista, give me your computer.â
Erwin began to reach for her computer, âThen show me what you are writing.â
Collista shut her laptop and hugged it to her chest, âno!â
Collistaâs eyes widened. She knew that tone. It was 50% playful, 50% menacing, and 100% something that could get information out of her. She slowly set the computer on a pillow next to her, and then bolted out the office door, narrowly avoiding Erwinâs grasp as she ran.
Kaia also set her laptop down, and bolted. Levi probably would have caught her if Erwin hadnât called him back.
âthey left their laptops.â
They both grabbed the computers and opened them. Both were locked.
Erwin cursed under his breath.
âDonât you know her password?â levi asked, looking at Collistaâs strange lockscreen.
âNo, she changes it every time she finds a new âfavorite thingâ. Donât you know Kaiaâs? Isnât it your name backwards or something?â
They heard someone running down the hallway. It was Kaia, she passed the office door and yelled, âChanged that last week!â
Erwin cursed again, it wouldnât have been hard to catch Collista if he had run after her when she bolted, but now sheâs had time to hide. It would be a challenge to find her.
Collista ran through the halls, looking for a place to hide. It would have to be really good, as she had no hope of outrunning Erwin if he found her, and she couldnât fight her way out if he got too close. She couldnât hide atop a shelf or cabinet, he could still reach her. She turned down a hall filled with cadets. They either moved out of her way or she pushed them out of her way. Collista swore she heard Erwin pounding down the hall behind her, so she burst into the first open room she saw, which happened to be the male cadetâs quarters. The door she ran through swung towards the wall then slammed back into itâs frame, drawing all attention to her. A few of the cadets had reflexes fast enough to salute her, but many of the others were too surprised to move.Â
âWhereâs the best place to hide??â Collista hurriedly asked. She knew Erwin could come in after her any minute. Without waiting for an answer, she dove under one of the cadetsâ beds. Minutes passed, nobody else came in. One of the cadets lowered himself to the floor to speak to Collista.
âW-why are you hiding under my bed?â
âBecause. Donât question, and do NOT tell the commander where I am if he asks for me.â Collista poked her head out from under the bed, âThat applies to all of you!!â
There was a box or two under the bed, Collista curled up behind them, positioning herself so that her hair and boots were not visible at first glance. Some chatter began to spring up around the room, most of it questioning her actions and reasoning. The door opened, much more softly than when Collista had hurtled through it. The chatter around the room immediately hushed.
âHas anyone seen squad leader Squib?â Erwin asked.
Collista imagined every pair of eyes was trained on her hiding spot. She was sure he was going to find her.
âCommander,â one of the cadets spoke up, it sounded like cadet Kirstein, if he gave her away he wouldnât just be cleaning the stables, heâd be living there for the next week, âShe kicked the door in, ran around the room like a crazy person for a few seconds, then ran back out. What is going on?â
âNothing of your concern, if you see her again, come find me.â
âYes sir.â Kirstein, along with everyone in the room saluted as he left.
The door slammed, and Collista crawled out of her hiding spot.
âYou owe me one.â Jean stated as Collista looked around the room. for a new spot.
âYeah, whatever horseface,â Collista waved him off, âCadet Braun.â
âHelp me into the rafters.â
âDonât question me, just do it.â
âBut the Commander said-â
âI donât give a crap what the Commander said, help me up to the rafters, or I will give you to Hanji to be experimented on.â
Collista could see the fear in his eyes.
âWhat do I do?â he asked.
All sounds from the hall were silenced. Erwin was coming back.
No one really knows how, but somehow she managed to grab hold of a rafter and straddle it. The Commander entered the room again. The cadets snapped to attention. Collista flattened herself on the rafter.
âOther cadets have reported that Squad leader Squib did enter, but never left. Where is she?â
Collista began to scoot towards the door, but she underestimated the amount of dust on the rafters. It floated off the rafter and down to the floor. Erwin looked up, surprise crossed his face for the first time in a long time.
âHow did you get up there?â
âIâŚ.I donât know.â
âOne, Youâre going to hurt yourself. Two If Levi finds you, he will stick you in a bucket of bleach. Three, I want you unlock your computer, and four, I out rank you, so get down here.â
Collista had intended to actually climb down safely, but gravity had other intentions. She rolled off the side of the rafter. She screeched as gravity took its full effect. Luckily she was saved from a painful fall by a certain person that outranked her.
âThatâs why youâre my favorite!â Collista smiled.
âSo, are you gonna put me down?â
Erwin swung Collista over his shoulder and walked off towards his office.
âYou know I hate being carried like this.â
âThatâs why Iâm doing it.â
âI donât like you.â
Erwin opened the door to his office, revealing a stern Levi and a bundle of blankets he assumed was Kaia. He dropped Collista on a pile of pillows. Levi saw the dust that was smeared on Collistaâs shirt and also Erwinâs shoulder. He looked mortified.
âYou two are disgusting. What happened?â
âShe hid in the rafters of the cadetâs quarters.âErwin answered as he brushed loose dust off of his shirt, âNow, unlock the computers.â
Erwin and Levi sat between the two girls as they unlocked the computers. Then took the computers and began reading.
âYouâre writing about the peanut butter cups?â
âYup! Weâve already posted the first part.â
