something interesting i've noticed re: aran and language/gender expression. every time i've heard him use a polite particle 'ค่ะ(kha)/ครับ(krab)' he uses the generally female particle 'kha(ค่ะ)'
the only time i've heard him not use ค่ะ is when he's been speaking to his father. whenever he speaks with his father he uses 'krab(ครับ)'
now i don't actually speak thai, nor am i thai, nor have i ever been to thailand but i've been watching thai shows for 4 years now and i have a good ear.
i know sometimes 'men' will use 'kha' to sound softer, or when they're speaking to a younger female (like a sister or something) but i don't think that is what aran is doing here.
people who are part of the 'กะเทย(kathoey)' culture will often use 'kha' imo it's a lot like gay men calling each other 'girl, bitch, etc' but aran doesn't only do it when he's around other kathoey, he uses it all the time (except when he's around his father where he reverts to 'krab'.
i don't know exactly what this means but i thought i would bring it up to people because i'm not sure everyone is aware of the significance of that in aran's life.
clearly he feels the need to live up to his father's standards and that includes performing masculinity.
