So the Eminem comment comes from Deadline #1:
"All right, Storm, who were you with last night? Britney? Christina? Eminem?" So, you know, update for the sliding timescale -- I think the actual people listed here are less important than what they represent, which are major music stars of the time. Two female, one male. I think it's interesting that Johnny's problem here, even in a comic published in 2002, isn't the implication about his sexuality, but about his professional image. He dislikes that Kat says he was drunk on the job, and the attempts to pry into his private life. He never actually engages with the "were you with a woman or a man last night" aspect.
I'll read anything starring a Bugle reporter, by the way, and this is a really fun comic. Kat's commentary on Johnny here actually comes back to bite her later as the book progresses and she starts to realize she was the one out of line. But also it's a pretty funny rant.
"Pretty Boy Storm here burns down Union Square Park and the mayor kisses his yoga'ed butt."
For Ben teasing Johnny about his crush on Peter, Spider-Man's Tangled Web #21, which is the action figure scene:
"Admit it, you're kinda sweet on him." Whether Ben actually knows or he's just taking cheap shots is up for interpretation, but I personally think he knows. (If we're reading between the lines in Daken: Dark Wolverine, he definitely knows Johnny and Akihiro had a sexual relationship.) I can't tell if this is based on a specific figure, but the packaging does look like the official Marvel ones. Peter is not getting a cut out of those sales in canon.
