Storinka meets new Kantouban president Doufuya
Korlanic Rangatira Ikaroa Storinka has met with the newly appointed president of Kantouba. They discussed collaboration between the two states, as well as the war on the Kuata Strait.
Korlan agreed to send Kantouba several billion Korlanic Taara in order to fund social programs, he will also be funding the party of Ikura Doufuya, in order to bring her regime closer with his, as well as to ensure a friendly government stays in power.
Storinka also agreed to an undersea railway between the two, under the Yalakan Strait. This project is currently in its planning stages and likely won't take place until the close of the war.
The two leaders also signed a 5 year non-aggression pact in order to show good faith between the two nations during high tensions in the region. Storinka also offered 8 million dollars to construct the first Tapuangan temple in Kantouba, who's Tapuangan population is small, however, deserves recognition. The temple will be built in the Kantouban capital of Umilae, which has the largest Tapuangan population in Kantouba. Storinka hopes Kantouban citizens will take interest in the religion.
Ikura Doufuya also agreed to allow Korlanic ships to dock in Kantouban ports, which further extends the ability of Korlan's naval capabilities.
The biggest news of the meeting, however, was Storinka's promise to guarantee Kantouba's independence. The Rangatira promised that Korlan will defend Kantouba's sovereignty as it defends its own.
Many leaders were surprised at the results of this meeting, as Ikaroa Storinka seemed to have been level-headed and avoided the use of his usual fear tactics to win over Kantouba. Storinka is seemingly attempting to win over the support of the Kantouban people normally. Storinka's sudden change of foreign policy has worried many, if Ikaroa can successfully win over the Kantoubans, the situation in Ailou will significantly worsen for the Southern Alliance.
Storinka's friendliness to Kantouba is likely also a way to avoid fighting back against Doufuya for her pro-Korlan outlook on the Ilfiatist War. The friendship between Storinka and Doufuya also means that Korlan can better assert itself in the Yalakan Strait.
However, near the end of the meeting, Storinka did issue one warning to the Kantouban president. Warning the leader that working with the Southern Alliance will end the relationship between the two nations immediately.
Storinka later announced he hopes collaboration between the two nations can continue, hoping to work together on more projects in the future. He also extended an invitation to the Allied Effective to Kantouba if they adopt Ilfiatism, or a similar ideology that aligns more with the organization.
