To all my farmsim lovers out there, this week the 1.0 of Farlands was released. It's a small indie game of farming simulation and exploration in the outer space.
It has different layers on it, like the management of the ship to jump between planets, and a more complex and realistic friendship mechanic where you can either chat, joke with or flirt at the different bachelors/bachelorettes with different percentages of success.
The pixel art has such a personality, too.
The story works because, while it doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, it brings its own references to the real world (you buy a suspiciously cheap planet that ends up being little more than a dumpster instead of the classic trope of inheriting a big ass farm).
The villain works well, too, and there's a recurring gag among the players because you can pretend you don't know who he is every time you cross paths with him.
Long story short, it works. It's funny, it has all the elements we know and love but with its own personality, and the story is not that long.
It's on Steam, and for consoles. I'm not daring to put a price because the developers gave it regional prices so it can be accessible for everyone, everywhere (even that was considered).
And no, this lame ass post wasn't paid in any form. I just wanted to share with you a game I'm sure you'll enjoy.
