He looked at Kanoske, question crossing his face as she looked almost as confused as him. He knelt down to her, placing one of his hands on her forehead  and the other on his... No heat, so she was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary.

“I just came to make sure you weren’t dead or somethin’,” he answered, picking up her arm by her wrist and taking out the letter that hid in between her fingertips. “What is this?”

He held it up. It was an egg-white paper with gashed edges and dirt specks on the surface. The thickness of it made it a bit heavier than regular paper, so he wondered if it was a document. And why it would make Kanoske stare off into space that deeply.
