to my new drawing tablet, THE KAMVAS 13!!!
Blue outfit Joxter~
Was sent a Kamvas 13 from Huion to try and here is my review!
Please keep in mind I don’t draw digitally often, so my understanding of tablets is minimal. My last tablet was a Wacom Graphire and I draw on the iPad twice a year lmao.
In terms of application, the Kamvas is really comfortable and easy to draw with.
It comes with a nifty adjustable stand and 10 extra pen nibs.
The surface feels close to drawing on paper compared to the iPad and the pen feels super ergonomic so my hand didn’t hurt after drawing for 4~5 hours. Plus the pen does not need battery or charge and I think the sensitivity was good. The nib did wear away a bit after one day of use, so I’m thinking that’s why they give you so many extra nibs.
For setup, overall it was fine, but I did have a few minor issues and got answers from google/ twitter so I will put them here in case it can be of help to anyone.
I work from iMac so I needed to get a hdmi-thunderbolt adapter as the cables provided did not work with iMac.
2ndly, when I followed the installation guide and linked everything, the tablet only showed the desktop but not any of the icons. (Google: system preference ->Mirror screen)
3rdly, I could not get the pen to register at first, but you need to hold the pen tip to the screen quite hard and wait for a few seconds.
Other than that, I think the Kamvas works well and the price makes it more accessible so it’s definitely a worthwhile tablet if you are thinking about trying it!
babe’s ✨ gorgeous ✨

Messy sketch with a new drawing tablet!
I’d like to note that pen display tablets offers borderline unfair advantage over screenless ones
