kakashi not having basically ANY real character arc or development in the whole story cause the author got too wrapped up in his exploding-bottle-episode (which, to be fair to Higashiyama, WAS decently written and excecuted with some fun chracters thrown in), only for LITERALLY the last page before the epilouge to be an internal monologe dump where he comes to terms with being hokage immediately. what. what's with that. it was almost the opposite problem for shikamaru. they HAD a character tension and decent arc that was NUKED two thirds of the way through the book cause yano realized he actually didn't have a resolution for it. WHERE IS THEIR EDITOR
