Kalaes went to take another sip of his coffee only to remember the cup had been empty for an hour now. Might as well go brew himself some more. He'd been up half the night studying and was getting far too frustrated.

He got the water boiling started for his coffee and leaned against the counter. He just wanted to get this last spell down. Of he could get it he could get some rest. But he didn't understand how to cast it and didn't want it blowing up in his face. His ears still rung from the last time that happened.

“Taden would know.” He said to himself as he glanced out of the window. The night sky was already turning pink at the horizon. He'd really been at this all night? Where had the hours gone? He wasn't expecting it to be that late.

Maybe he'd study and try for a few more hours then go ask him. Kalaes wanted to ask earlier but knew it was too late to visit. As much as Taden enjoyed helping him with Mage things he liked that during the day.

Kalaes took his cup of coffee back to his room and settled at his desk to review his books more. It wasn't easy getting into Mage arts as a Kaldorei. Times were changing but there was still a stigma around it. Thankfully his parents had always encouraged him.
