girls in grown-up costumes
I consider myself to be so lucky. I've made friends whom I know will stay with me for life and today when I met Kailing for lunch, it felt kind of surreal because here was a girl I've known since I was 11 and I'm talking to her as if we were still those 11 year old girls who donned the clothes of 23 year olds, being excited and nervous for what's laid ahead for us.
Being with her feels good because it feels like home. She is one of those people who will never judge you because she's so kind, like genuinely! I'm not kidding. Sometimes I'm puzzled and irked by how kind she is because HOW CAN ANYONE NOT BE JUDGMENTAL AT ALL? Even I have my threshold and I judge people silently but I think she doesn't and that's what's so great about her. She's such a good listener and a conversationalist. She's like the little sister I never had in some ways, as opposed to Gladys who's like the elder sister I never had.
Sitting in my favourite restaurant (yes, I brought her to Mad For Garlic) with her and the sun streaming through the glass panes, we talked. I had brought her to a bookstore earlier on and introduced her to a book by a local writer and she was telling me that I should get published one day. I've always secretly wanna be a writer but I never felt like I was good enough. No one has ever told me that but she did. And she really believed that I could! Who knows maybe one day, I would really get my book published by Math Paper Press, in pulp paper so rich to the touch and a cover that's simple, with my own illustrations on the cover. That's the dream :)
Thank god for friends, thank god for life.
