Realm Time Difference

So this probably should have been discussed with book one, but I never thought about it... I'm sure someone did, but I never saw it so I'm sharing now.

In book one, the whole group goes in the Shadow Realm for a few hours(?) and it's 2 weeks in "real time" aka The Realm of Light.

MC goes in for a day (?) in book two and is gone a year in "real time".

Kade was in the shadow realm for MONTHS in "real time" as MC traveled from Riverbend through the kingdoms tracking the shards... how come for Kade time only past in real time?

Shouldn't it be like a decade or two later for Kade in the Realm of Light???

Or was Kade only in the shadow realm for a few hours? (It seemed like he was in there a while)

Am I missing something?!

Edit: I know there are a lot of unknowns with book 2 and how long we were there, but there still seems to be a discrepancy in book one with Kade?
