Circa June/July(?) 2004 after transfering rego of my first ever k11 into my name.. "Skittles" a 1995 lx was bought as deceased estate off a guy out near Strathalbyn who'd inherited it of his Aunt or Mum or something. It had just clicked over 48,000km, had full service history, and apart from the front drivers side guard being slightly lighter red (I think because the old lady had knocked into something and had it touched up) it was immaculate and true granny spec even all 4 hub caps were unmarked. Amazing for a 10yo car and $3,800 purchase price. I kept it for the next 4 years as it was, even retaining the cassette deck, just regularly servicing it and getting new tires and passenger side CV joint until around 100,000km before selling to my sister and upgrading to Charlotte. My sister had it until ~140,000km(?) when the timing chain broke and f'ed the whole engine. She had a cheap second hand engine installed then traded it in on a mid 2000s Suzuki Swift which she's only just sold 2 weeks ago. I like to think that Skittles is still in one piece and being loved somewhere even if it's not registered.
