Sometimes you walk away not just for yourself, but for the better of the others around you as well.

So here’s what I know I was right and I was wrong. I was right that you would tell me no. That you didn’t want me you wanted her. I was right that you and I were never meant for each other in that way but I was also wrong. I was wrong that hearing the words from you would break me. I was wrong in thinking that I wouldn’t be fine. I was wrong in thinking that there will be no one else. I was wrong to believe this would crush me. I care for you and hate that I can’t hate you, but I also know it’s your loss. I’m tired of waiting on potential. I’m tired of hoping to be seen or noticed because I deserve better, I deserve more. I hate that I can’t hate you, I wish I did it would be easier. I hate how my heart hurts. That you’ll never know how I’ve cared for you. How it is way more than I should have. I hate that I put myself in a position to have to fake a smile. I do hope that one day…one day I’ll really be your friend. One day you’ll find all the things you’re looking for, but I hope it’s not with her. But if I’m honest, I’ll be shocked if it’s not her. I do wish you the best and if the next time you see me I’m a little more shy or if I hang out with you less know it’s not cause I value you any less, it’s cause I have given you too much value in my life. Especially considering I don’t really hold any in yours.
