There's this sunk cost when it comes to organising things that I wish people thought of more. I'm trying to get a trip for an activity planned - something that requires booking and an upfront payment. I don't want to be That Person who demands everyone pay up or else - I'm fine operating on good faith and taking the initial however-many-$ fee, because I'm in a position where I can. That said, if you're going to ignore the messages I send out confirming and double confirming the time and place, it... Legitimately costs me something. Sure, I can cancel bookings - but that comes with fees, and then the money's already taken out of my account, and it'll take a while to get refunded, and you've cost me time and grief aside. :| It sort of twigs me that people who /don't/ organise things are the ones most likely to do shit like this - compounding the problem. How can you go a lifetime like this????? ????? ?
